Task 2 – Take home task
Task description: Select one of following activities: Cross Country, respond to the questions below; 3. Predict your potential to perform in this activity using the result from the fitness testing you carried out in class. Outline some training strategies that could help improve my performance (10 marks)
My prediction of my potential performance in the cross country would be low percentile although I would finish under the time limit given I would have issues in coping with the distance and the intensity of the course. My prediction comes from the results of the fitness testing carried out in class as the cross country requires many core components of fitness such as; cardio respiratory …show more content…
Cardio respiratory system; Cardiorespiratory fitness test is to measure how well your body’s ability to transport your oxygen into your muscles and use It The cardio respiratory system’s fitness testing was the Beep test. In the beep test I acquired a result of 5.2 in the continuous running of lines between the distance of 20m to measure an individual’s pace, and oxygen in take levels throughout until they hit their best, my result is which is regarded fair for a female aged 16. The beep test results assure my prediction about my performance in the cross country will be in the lower- average percentile. The cardio respiratory system is a core component for cross country as it provides the muscles in the body with oxygen and nutrients to keep it moving through out activities of higher intensity and duration. As a resulted with 5.2 I was still in the “fair” …show more content…
I acquired a result of on 6-10, as a female of age 16 I received a result of below average. muscular strength the testing is the 7stage abdominal test, I got up to stage 5 which is very good. Although anaerobic Muscular endurance is another essential component for the better performance in the cross country as it assists in it helps individuals leg muscles the strength and the endurance needed provide to participates to withstand the distance and the intensity within the course and to sustain constant and repeated contraction over a long time, fighting the intensity. Although my results were lower for muscular endurance there are limitations in the fitness testing as pushes is not a valid testing as cross country is a sport of the lower body whereas this test is testing the muscular endurance in the upper body. For muscular strength, I achieve a higher result with landing on stage 5 although again a limitation as it is testing the muscular strength of my upper body rather than my lower which is needed in cross country. To improve my outcomes in the cross country I wold need to work on my muscular strength and endurance to help me withstand the intensity and move faster and longer. I would improve but gradually working on many repetitions on strength training starting with 2 times a week and moving on the 2-3 building the intensity to help further improve muscular endurance and strength,
