Being An American Culture Essay
If someone from another country asked me what the American culture is like, I would tell them the following:
• America is a very diverse country. It is also common to see people from different ethnic backgrounds come together and communicate with one another, which may be surprising to non-Americans

• It is normal to dress very casually and informal during day-to-day life. Unless there is a formal event to attend to or having to dress for work, it is common to see men and women dress however they like. Style ranges vastly based on fashion, trends, and comfort. Each person is unique and have their way of expression.

• It is common for many Americans to have their own car and to drive as their form of transportation while many other countries walk and use public transportation, such as bus or train, as their way of travelling.

Whether it be walking in a public area or it be sitting down, it is normal to provide more distance to feel comfortable.

• Tipping is expected to people who provide service, like bartenders, food servers, and hairstylists.

Being an American allows us to be the person we want to be. We have the choice to achieve whatever goals we have in mind without having to worry about what others expect from us. America is a land of equality and freedom. We build our own futures and can create a positive impact in each other’s lives.
English is the most spoken language in the United States, but there is not an “official” language. Because America is so diverse, it is not uncommon to come across someone who is bilingual. There are many other languages spoken in America as

    I believe there is no simple answer to what being an American means. I think that the background which a person is raised in influences their definition of an American.
