Essay #2(rough draft)
Generations Changing
Over the years of going through grade school I have seen different generations change and they way people go about things including myself. One of the things I have seen change that is huge is technology. After reading the Beliot list for college students in the class of 2018 I came across a couple of interesting points. The point that I do agree with is that I found was “celebrities selfies are cooler than autographs” and “Press pound” on the phone is now translated as “hit hashtag.” Seeing these points on the Beliot list I do agree with the things they say because most of these relate to our generation and how different things were back when we were kids. These little sayings I believe our accurate characterization because I have seen these things change especially kids going from waiting in line to for autograph to now kids standing in line to just take a selfie, or even talking on the phone with someone important and they say hit “pound” bout to our generation that is “hashtag” due to the importance of twitter and social media now a days.
As I read the beloit list for the incoming class of freshman I started to read over them all and see if these list of things are for the most part correct about our generation of kids in the class of 2018. Going through this I do agree with most of what they say because it really shows you a different side of how the generations have changed over the years. As said before one that I agree with is “celebrities selfies are far cooler than autographs” for example I work at the Basketball Hall of Fame and we have this thing in called the “60 days of summer program” where we bring in basketball players that our in the hall of fame and they give a hour speech to the people in attendance then sign autographs, but the thing that caught my eye every day through out the summer was all these kids waiting in line for their autographs
