Benjamin Franklin's Views On The Relationship Between Liberty And Security
Freedom is not something that anybody can be given; Freedom is something that people take and people are as free as they want to be. Benjamin Franklin, one of the Founding Fathers of the United States, states, "Those who desire to give up freedom in order to gain security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one." Basically, Franklin is saying that in any circumstances mankind should not forget about the most important thing in the world - freedom. Freedom is when people have the opportunity to pursue happiness without any barriers. Freedom "gives" happiness because the state of being free is aligned with our true nature. The more you are aligned with your true nature, the more you are well. To simplify this, I would say if we have freedom - we have happiness; if we lose freedom we lose happiness as well. I believe people are only able to value it, as far as they can acknowledge how much it's important to them. Relationship between liberty and security cannot be balanced, because liberty and safety are not equal, as one created the other. It can only work together, and my preference would be for freedom. If I had to make the only one choice, I would never give up freedom. Without freedom, security is going to look like life in the cage. People are going to be like domestic animals unable to do anything without permission of their leader. The things that differ people from animals are their minds, ability to think, knowledge, and right to have choices and make mistakes, learning from mistakes and not repeating them in the future. Fluffy little pets wait for the food and a pat and if they do not get it they would just die, if people would give up freedom, they would not be better than animals. I truly believe that life similar to that of a pet is definitely not the best

Liberty is defined as equality, state of being free or having freedom of choice. Sometimes our freedom can be limited because of the government policies. We shouldn’t just follow whatever the government addresses without thinking deeply about our options because sometimes they can lead us to a dead-end road. We should follow our instincts, and essence. Government responsibility to provide our needs and protect our right but sometimes that is not the case, they might direct us to the wrong way “They think that, if that they should resist, the remedy would be worse than the evil. But it’s the fault of the government itself that the remedy is worse than evil” Henry David Thoreau, Civil Disobedience. Liberty gives us the freedom to say no that what make it very important.…

This can otherwise be known as trying to reach a state of moral perfection, in which one could find themselves being happy with the life they live, and also living a pure, sinless life. It has come to be questioned if attempting to achieve moral perfection is a worthwhile goal. In the end of his experiment he ended up not being able to reach or achieve his goal but learned a very crucial, very valuable lesson. He discovered throughout the recesses of his journey that achieving his goal would be found to be impossible, but in turn he learned that many of the virtues are good to try and maintain during everyday activities and through life itself. By maintaining these virtues the quality of life can be expected to be exponentially greater than without them. Three of the virtues that stand out the most are Silence, Order, and Moderation. Silence, Order, and Moderation are thought to be the most important virtues within Franklin’s stride to perfection and many people today can learn at his attempts to make life more enjoyable for himself.…
