Many parents were unwilling to participate, but I was persistent in making sure that they were up to date and kept in the loop. I even instructed the secretary to send out more emails, and, as a committee, the officers sought to personally reach out to all club members to make sure that they were meeting the monthly requirements and participating in all club sponsored events. Over the course of a month, I decided to change some policies and I instituted a social media page in order to make the club more accessible to everyone. It turns out, that more and more students began to interact with us more and things were finally getting back on track. I, and the rest of the officer corps, had decided that working with students instead of telling them exactly what to do, was the best approach to dealing with high school students of all abilities. This took awhile for me to learn, but it was worth it; many students live busy lives and I had to learn how we could work with them in order to achieve our goals. I wanted to make sure that everyone had the opportunity to pursue his or her own interest while still meeting the requirements of the club that they signed up
