The different services include many positions such as, school sign holders and seat reserves, lunch servers, beverage staff, Hug Buddies, events staff,
and the horse riders. There are members that are waiting outside for the buses to arrive so that they can show the children and adults where to go and where to sit with their schools. Some members are appointed to serve the children and the adults’ lunch. The beverage staff provide drinks to those who need one. There members are called "Hug Buddies," which are members assigned to be escorts. These Hug Buddies show the children around and help them during the events. Other members are the events staff, they get the events ready and running. The events include the bean bag toss, an inflatable obstacle course, the pony rides, the meter run, basketball, Frisbee, and soccer. Lastly, some of the members have horses, and they bring the horses to the events for the children to have a pony ride. The owners are there the whole time to make sure nothing goes wrong and no one gets hurt.
At the end of the Exceptional Olympics, the children receive trophies for all of the events accomplished throughout the day. All of the staff gather in two lines called the victory line to cheer on the children when they are on their way back to their buses. The joy brought on by the cheers is absolutely amazing and is worth all of the hard work put into planning and organizing this event. To be able to bring joy to the children involved in the Olympics is wonderful. The Exceptional Olympics best exemplifies the motto “Let Us Lead By Serving Others” through the services and care accomplished by the Beta Club sponsors, officers, and members. This event is anticipated every year and all of the members enjoy assisting the special children have an enjoyable time.
