Biking or Driving?
In the era of global warming, each time is more important to adopt an active change in our mentality towards environmental care. In this sense, using both cars and bicycles can play an important role decreasing the climate change. Bicycles and cars are both means of transportation and also great inventions that allow us to improve the quality of life. The purpose of this essay is to explain the differences between bicycles and cars in short distances. They have different impacts over our economy, health, and environment.
One of the points that should be considered getting a bicycle is its low cost. As same as the cars, you can find different kind of bicycles, according to your preferences. Mountain bikes, folding bikes and urban bikes are clear examples. On the other hand, cars are each time more technologically advanced, but they follow using fossil fuels. The continuing conflicts in the Middle East increasing the prices each week in many countries. You can save a lot of money in gasoline consumption if you change your car by a bicycle in short trips.
The second important benefit of riding a bicycle for short distances is that you can help you to have good health. Riding a bicycle is a great cardiovascular exercise that strengthens your heart. This is an aerobic exercise which means that your heart is pumping blood through all your body. In contrast, when you are driving a car, you can be affected for different issues as stress on your mind and body, eye fatigue and night blindness, and road fatigue, for instance.
Finally, the most important consequence using a bicycle is that you can help to reduce the air pollution. Replacing a car for a bike for short trips is a great way to decrease the CO2 released into the atmosphere.
