Bilingual Persuasive Speech
We live in a world where more people from other countries are moving to new ones, knowing different languages can help the world be seen in a different light. It can also open windows for jobs that allow working with other countries.
Being bilingual means that a person can speak two of the roughly 6,500 known languages fluently. If a child is taught a foreign language in the early stages of life, it allows them to understand subjects faster than kids that are monolinguals, one that speaks one language. The child that was taught a different language can learn new words faster, sound out words much easier and be able to connect with others easier. Also, the child can learn how their language and certain dialects were formed.
In the United States, a bilingual individual can earn anywhere from 5% to 20% more than the base pay for a monolingual. In California, bilinguals can earn an extra $.58 an hour. Oregon pays a bilingual that frequently uses their skills $30 per hour extra.
