Her Watering Eyes

There once was a land all dull and dry. Not a river, puddle or bird in the sky. Everyone just went on with their day, without a single emotion. Everybody was just simply blah. But then one day all that changed, one day a girl began to cry and just did not know why. She didn’t quite understand why water began to pour down her face. This is where it all began. Her mom always knew her daughter was special but couldn’t put her finger on what it was. But the day her daughter’s boyfriend broke up with her she knew why.

Jasmine Jones was an ordinary girl like everyone else. She felt nothing, just simply moped around from place to place. In a way she felt incomplete but had no idea what was wrong with her? The day her boyfriend well ex-boyfriend now called was the day everything changed. He called her and said “Jasmine I am no longer fond of you; I think we should break up”. And after those words were said out of his mouth she felt a sudden pang in her heart and was uncertain what was happening to her. The more and more she dwelled on what just happened, the more her heart began to hurt.

Then her face began to get wet. Water began to come out of the girls’ eyes. What was happening to her? Jasmine started to think that she was sick. She was completely unaware that she had just created the very first feeling in all of mankind. Jasmine went into her kitchen looking for her mom. She was inquisitive about what was happening to her body. Water coming out of someone’s eyes was very peculiar. When she asked her mother what was going on with her body her mom had nothing to say. Her mom responded by just looking at her in pure astonishment. After a while Jasmine no longer seemed to care what her mom had to say at the moment. She just began to notice that her eyes were watering so much that the kitchen floor began to fill up with her water. So she continued to feel water coming out of her

This story is about a woman who has a depressive disorder and she’s explaining what it feels like to us. She first talks about how you can’t easily just ‘snap out’ of depression and explains how she’s tried to get rid of it with the help of medication and specialists. Next, she tries to give us a description on what depression feels like to her – something like a black swap bubbling inside her chest: heavy, wet and with cloying ooze. She mentions about how she's holding the depression inside of her, and even if someone asks her if she's ok, she will say, “Yes, I'm fine,” and resists the urge to say, “No I'm not, please help me.” She then says that depression is different between each person, and everyone else has their personal share in experiencing it. She tells us why she wrote this message – for those countless number of people out there right now ashamed of their own suffering. She finally talks about how it’s possible to escape depression, not in death, but from help in other people; she says, “we can’t be afraid to ask for help.…

The original U.S. Constitution did not contain a Bill of Rights. This was added at a later date at which time Amendments were also added. Since the creation of this original document there have been several alterations and additions to the Constitution. How these amendments are included and why they were, is vital to understanding the document as a whole. However, the problems of the original document prompted the inclusion of a Bill of Rights. The Bill of Rights has also affected the Constitution in multiple ways. The original document presented problems with changing society that led to later amendments of which the Thirteenth through Fifteenth Amendments are an example and the effects of these Amendments are evidence of justification.…

In the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence, the authors describe the people who are allowed to rule. The Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution, which is the law of the land in the United States. The Declaration of Independence is the document that the U.S. sent to Great Britain to declare their independence from them. The problem with these two documents is that they were written by and for the rich people of the time and hasn’t really evolved with time to accommodate the growing population of lower class citizens. Why would the writers make these documents that are supposed to be for all of the citizens of the U.S. make it almost just for the one percent of the U.S.? Are rich people the only people who…

For all of my life, I have been an American citizen. I’ve never thought of my freedoms and rights as being a blessing, for I’ve never known anything different. But now that I have gone to DC and have seen all of our national buildings and landmarks, like the white house, Arlington Cemetery, the Jefferson Memorial, and so on, I now have a newly founded appreciation for my liberties. All of the rights I have as an american are very special and unique, for the concept of everyone being equal was new in our world. Also, the bravery of our forefathers is astonishing, for they could have been tried and hung for treason if we didn’t win the war. And the government they establish is completely original and is completely, as put by our 16th president, Abraham Lincoln, “of the people, by the people, for the people,” and in my opinion, constructed in liberty, and most importantly, freedom.…
