There are many information systems and new technology revolving everyday. The first thing you have to ask yourself what systems is right for your company first. Next, what hardware, software, and network products meet your needs the most and is the price beneficial and not too damaging to your expenses. Lastly, ask yourself how complicated will the systems be to download and install? Will you need outside help to be compensated to help you learn about your systems and install the material for you? These are all great question to ask yourself when you 're not familiar with new technology or network systems, or a new database. Write out a business plan so that you can budget in the type of system that you want to use and that will help keep your consumers happy as well as people you will choose to order different items from, such as records (vinyl), CD 's, DVD 's, Posters, and anything else you decide to sell.
The five systems I wanted to show you were, Point of Sale systems, Quick books or Intuit, Open gate software and Microsoft Access, and Business Intelligent Systems. All of these systems do multiple things but when they all come together you can smoothly run your business and make more money, most of the time. Paychex payroll system is also another great system to get all your payroll needs done as well, this system usually keeps the IRS very happy and it limits the amount of work you have to complete when filing taxes for the company.
The Point of Sale system also known as the POS is the leading seller in systems for all retail and restaurants. It comes as a touch screen, it is easy to operate and links all POS systems together at the end of batching out. It comes equipped with a credit card machine to make debit and credit card transactions. There are three different types of POS systems but many models, the types are ECR 's, Network systems, and the best one of all is the Controller-Based POS Systems. All systems have set backs, downfalls, but all of them also have the pro 's to their systems when choosing to purchase one for your company it takes a little more than just the cheapest. Take example the ECR Systems they are amazing because of their individual features like, automated sales and tax calculations, change due back to the consumer/customer, sale report generator, and food stamps system. EC R 's are the least expensive but they 're the most limited out of all three of the systems. “They cannot provide their owners with store wide reporting or file sharing; they can merely report the business activity at that particular register.” (Gale 2007). This is the systems biggest downfall. The Network system POS can operate multiple terminals, equipped with extra memory capacity, serves as the primary terminal and receives data from the secondary terminals that is the pro of this operating system. The Con is anything outside of the primary and secondary this POS can not really help multiple locations. Last, one is the controller based OS. Its big Pro is that it receives, stores sales, merchandise, and credit all into its system. The Con of this POS is that it always changes and needs updates more frequently than the other 2.

Quick books Pro and Intuit are two systems that link together. Business owners have been using this system for years. Bookkeepers live by Quick books. There are so many features inside this one system that it is really not limited to a lot. Intuit made quick books pro available online for the small businesses to do everything from the comfort of their laptop or home based computer. That was in 2000. Now you can just log into you system from anywhere you can even complete certain actions online right from their internet site. Like: Accounts Payable Accounts receivable Orders Inventory Merchant Services Payroll Business Checks and much more This would be your one stop shop for everything you need to have a business up and running.
They have operators that help you all the way through with no extra charge. The down side to this system is that it has to be updated at least twice per year for 2 hours. They do have high credit card processing rates but nothing that you couldn 't get them to lower the interest rates.
Microsoft Access is designed as the ultimate software for your business needs. It does not allow you accept credit card or checks but the system has many other features like; Tracking the condition or status of assets or inventory, keeping track of your customers’ key information, buying habits, and frequent rewards. You also track other items like tracking the progress of team activities, manage events, donors, members, and donations for your company. Also, Keeping track of projects, tasks, and people assigned to them as the owner. You can easily download the templates if you feeling technology dim. You as a business owner have several options for different services, managing quotes, create invoices, and run your business all from this very database. Tracking inventory, create invoices, and establishing your price and keeping track of your competition. These features can also help your business run smoothly and hopefully without mechanical or computer error. In this system you can also create your own templates for employees or to add a certain vendor. …show more content…
This would be the ultimate system if they could get a template or system for money and check systems. (O 'reilly, 1993)

Business Intelligent Systems also known as BIS is good for new business owners .
Business intelligence systems can be analyzable as they identify, interpret and analyze data for diverse operational needs, particularly for decision-making purposes. BIS information systems may provide analysis that prognosticate future sales structures, reiterate current costs and prognosis sales revenues. Business intelligence systems accumulate data from the assorted data warehouses in an organization and provide management with reasoning according to lines of business, division or any breakdown that management desires. “For example, financial institutions use BIS systems to develop credit risk models that analyze the number and extent of lending or credit given to various sectors.” (Davoren, 2013) These systems may use various techniques and formulas to determine the probability of loan
defaults.
Paychex is a great system with so many different applications and features like, with mobile support gives your small business the power to run payroll from anywhere at any time. The payroll tax services work directly with your Paychex Payroll to calculate, deposit, and file your tax payments on time and without worry. This system is ideal for ideal for mid-sized employers, payroll and tax compliance can be managed in-house and online, eliminating inefficiencies of managing data in multiple places, providing complete control and ownership. Everything is in your hands when having the software from Paychex. The downside to this company is that it cost a monthly or annual fee for their services. So less work but it will cost just the same or take the effort and time and do it yourself. TYPE OF SYSTEM | FUNCTION | EXAMPLE | IS system | To produce paychecks and taxes for the company | Paychex | BIS | Analyze data for operational needs | Adobe | MS Information | stores data in its own format based on the Access Jet Database Engine | Microsoft Access | Accounting Information System | Organizes puts your sales, expenses, and customer & vendor profiles | Quick Books | ECR/Networking/ Controller Based | Completes retail or food transactions | Point of Sale System |
