Blink-182 Analysis
Song for this part: Adam’s song - Blink-182 “So this is my place” Trace says when he closes the front door carefully. I stare back and forth at the small apartment. It’s empty it has barely any furniture. Trace doesn’t say anything he is balancing on his heels back and forth. He withdraws before saying anything.
“Are we going to start?” I ask him. For the first time I am the one helping someone with the homework’s. Trace needed help with the chemistry homework.
My eyes glances over the boxes in the kitchen where Trace is waiting for me eagerly.
“Shall we start?” he instruct me to follow him. I nod as I see him looking inside the boxes. The sink is broken and the table is a really old wood with fissures on it. There are pizza boxes on the table with a mount of

It’s about to lit up and then it’s going to turn into ashes like a wish.
“We are leaving” he says coldly and grabs my push handles.
“Hey where is my money?” The father’s expression changes into a more aggressive one. He grasps Trace’s neck, but he nudges him back. “I have no money” Trace answers.
The steps kept haunting us, “Hey, give me back my money you’re a mother fucker!” his dad yells at him.
Song for this part: Bad Religion - Frank Ocean
We were finally save outside waiting for my dad to pick me up. I offered Trace to stay at my place for the night but he declined my offer, he tells me that he’s used to this. He grew up in this environment. he said that he can’t do anything about it just ignore his father. I felt horrible knowing that I have a family, a safe home where the walls are not haunted.
Trace holds the cigarette focusing on the pavement.
“It feels like I run and run but I never find my destiny” he says after a long time. I have no words. How can I help someone if I can’t even help myself?
“You’ll find it” I mumble.
“No, Lucian I’m stuck on the ground there is no heaven above

After I annotated this song and actually looked into what the lyrics were saying I learned that not everyone is who you think they are. For instance, you hide a lot of things from people not because you want to ,but because you don’t know how to tell them or maybe you’re afraid of what they will think of you. In the song ‘Demons’ by Imagine Dragons the singer says,”I wanna hide the truth’(Imagine dragons line 8 box 3) ,but then he says,” don’t want to hide the truth.”( Imagine Dragons line 35 box 8) I think that he is having mixed feelings what he should do. He is afraid that if he tells you that you may leave him or you won’t look at him the same way ever again.…
