What have you learnt about life in Africa from watching this film?
From watching the film Blood Diamond I have learnt that Africa can be a beautiful place when it’s calm, but most of the time it’s dictated by violence and mis-understanding. In the film there is some beautiful times, like at the start when Solomon and his son Dia go fishing early in the morning and it’s all so peaceful and quiet and near the end when Danny rings up Maddy to say his good byes before he went to another place, just the view that he saw was beautiful. I have also learnt that a lot of people live there and it is a really poor place because of the population of people so most of the people don’t have homes, so they live on the ground or in something they made with hay or straw. One of the other things is that Africa is a really big place and no matter how poor people are or how sore someone was they were happy as long as they had their family and it shows that throughout the movie, the only time they weren’t happy was when they lost everyone for the R.U.F. and the army shooting everyone just so the army can try and save as many as they could, they didn’t mean to shoot the people they did they just had to keep shooting so they could get the people in the R.U.F. so they can save more people.

Describe each of the following characters using powerful and effective vocabulary and phrases. Quote if you can (Maddy, Danny, Solomon and Captain Poison). * Maddy is a really smart girl and came to Africa to find out some information about Africa and how they live and learn for her magazine that she was making, she still wanted to do her magazine but also help Solomon get his family and Danny get the diamond. After Danny died Maddy helped Solomon gets the money and his family for the diamond and make sure that everyone knew what Danny went through to get the diamond and help others happy. * Danny is a corrupt diamond smuggler that

No matter who you might be there is always stereotyping around us, rich or poor we as humans seem to naturally stereotype. I think the film is trying to portray that we only have the ability to approach the situation in a controlled manner and with good ethics. It all depends on how you handle the situation what the outcome will be. There is so much diversity and so many different cultures around us that I think it is very important to know how to deal with stereotyping.…

According to her, Africa is often described as a place of beautiful landscapes and animals with incomprehensible people fighting senseless wars, dying of poverty and aids. It is a continent of catastrophes where people are pitiful illiterate aborigines who have no possibility of being human equals. The word "vote" leads to many numerous reactions from people. Some become argumentative and begin to reveal their opinions on different political conflicts while others attempt to avoid the topic at all times. Many Americans do not follow politics closely and vote for parties that are aligned with the social groups to which they belong. People also vote based off their perceived judgments made about the incumbent parties’ previous actions or the situations that occurred during their period in office. Policy choice is another factor that influences vote choice as well.…

Now that I am back, I’ve realized the huge difference between America and Africa. Back there, everyone was happy no matter the circumstance. The homeless man in the streets at night and the rich man with the nice car all share the same amount of gratitude. There was barely any known cases of stress or mental breakdowns it was all about living life to the fullest and never forgetting to be grateful for what you have. That trip made me realize how much we take things for granted starting from our education; people back home would kill for an opportunity like…
