1. What kinds of judgments/settlements were reached? Did you see nurses placed on probation, conditional licensure, or did some actually lose their license to practice nursing? Include ethical principles that directly or indirectly surfaced during the cases that were presented. (10 pts)

C. Blume was arrested and charged with an OWI and endangerment of a minor. Her blood alcohol level was .05, which was appropriate, but she had other chemicals in her system. Prior to her arrest, Ms. Blume stated that she drank 2 glasses of wine with dinner. She conveyed that she took 1mg of Ativan, 10mg of Zoloft, and her anti-depressant with dinner. She was off- duty and had intentions of going to sleep. Her daughter had called her and needed to be picked up from a friend’s house. Once Ms. Blume picked her daughter, they proceeded to play the game “Pokémon Go”. Ms.

Gisler used her sister’s driver’s license to purchase Sudafed. She was charged with fraud. She could not purchase more Sudafed (Pseudoephedrine) with her identification card, so she stole her sister’s. Ms. Gisler stated that she had Narcolepsy and that she was experiencing so much fatigue. She needed the medication in order to stay awake. She is currently enrolled in ISNAP. Ms. Gisler is not compliant with the program. She was inducted into the program in 2015 for severe opioid dependence. Her drug of choice was hydrocodone. She had a no-contact order with her sister. She is currently working at the Good Samaritan. The verdict: deny, 5:0:1. Ms. Gisler’s lost her license. She has to come back before the board for a review. The direct ethical principle that was not implemented was truthfulness. Ms. Gisler lied and committed fraud. I agree with the counsel’s verdict. Her licensed needed to be revoked. She was not compliant with ISNAP, and she did not embody
