BOOK REVIEW
INTRODUCTION
The phase we are living in is one of the most abnormal in human history. It is a phase marked by contradictions and confusions, the truth and lies both are treated non-existent till they slap on our face and make themselves heard crying out loud. A lie fed thousand times becomes a truth and a truth dormant becomes a lie. The book by Brig(retd) C S Thapa, “Gorkha in Search of Identity”, is an emotionally charged up and sincere attempt by a retd army offr to pay his debt to his community which as he rightfully justifies is facing an identity crisis even after as a community sacrificing its youth for India like any other martial race. The book contains hard bound 134 pages and is divided into nine chapters, followed by an article titled “A Stout Believer” enumerating demographic, historical and cultural aspect of Gorkhas. At the end the author also cements the argument of unflinching loyalty of Gorkha as a community towards India by example of his own family
