Boredom can be related to "actualizing need" in many ways. When one is bored their actualizing needs are not being fulfilled. When boredom occurs you are not having a pleasurable time at that moment, and therefore you are not being self-fulfilled. In order to achieve your actualizing needs all of your maintenance needs must all be first fulfilled, and then you can slowly work on achieving your actualizing needs. We must have self-fulfillment, creativity, self-expression, and realization of our potential in order to have our actualizing needs fulfilled. Boredom takes away from us, and our minds, it blocks our interest and enjoyment in different conditions. When you are bored you are self-deprived, and when you feel self-deprived you are unable to have self-fulfillment which makes it difficult to completely achieve your actualizing needs.
