There are many ways that people can get through conflict. But there are two ways that prove best. Bravery can propel you through a conflict. Most people who have gone through conflict and had courage prevailed. Through world times of conflict, heroes arise. Bravery and courage are some of the most important things to have while going through conflict.
Bravery can help you through a conflict tremendously. Just like it did for Sophie Scholl did. Sophie Scholl was a girl growing up in Hitler Youth. But she didn't agree with what the NAZI's did. This is so unusual because people, (especially kids) believe what people tell them. So she rebelled. She cut her hair short and did other things to rebel and protest NAZISM. She was …show more content…
brave to stand up to an entire political party.
This quote in Hitler Youth says, "During high school, Sophie began to grow away from the National Socialistic ideas about race, religion, and duty. She was beginning to form her own political views, which she often wrote about in her diary and letters. But to Sophie's dismay, her Nazi teachers did not tolerate disagreement or discussion of other viewpoints. Though Sophie knew the correct National Socialistic answer to every question, she soon found herself unwilling to give her teachers the answers they wanted but she felt were wrong." Bravery eventually helped her stand up to the NAZI’s and gave others a hope too. Winston Churchill (Prime Minister) also had the courage to stand up to the Germans when they were bombing Great Britain. The Germans were bombing Great Britain and they were close to defeat. In Blood, toil, tears, and sweat it says, "That is our policy. You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word: Victory, victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory, however long and hard the road may be; for without victory, there is no survival. Let that be realized; no survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge and impulse of the ages, that mankind will move
forward towards its goal. But I take up my task with buoyancy and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. At this time I feel entitled to claim the aid of all, and I say, "come then, let us go forward together with our united strength." This shows how determined, and relentless he is and will persevere, even when his way of life is being messed up.
People who had courage going through a conflict have prevailed. Some examples are Witold Pilecki and Amelia Earhart. They both looked conflict in the eye and said “Bring it”. Witold Pilecki volunteered to be imprisoned at Auschwitz (a concentration camp) to secretly collect intelligence and then escape. The text says, “While in the concentration camp Pilecki was responsible for informing the Allies of the atrocities of Auschwitz and organizing a resistance movement.” After three years in Auschwitz, Pilecki escaped. He took part in the Warsaw Uprising in August 1944 and served the London-based Polish government in exile, but was executed in 1948 by Stalin's police for “foreign imperialism.” He was truly a hero. Amelia Earhart was the first lady to fly across the Atlantic Ocean and first person to fly across the Atlantic and Pacific. Many people told her she couldn’t do it because she was a lady. The text says, “ The wisdom at the time was that such a flight was too dangerous for a woman to conduct herself.” Talking about flying over the Atlantic. But she did.
The holocaust was certainly a world conflict. Over 6 million Jews died. Many people rose to the challenge and did anything they could to help. Witold Pilecki could have saved hundreds of lives. Irena Sendler saved 2,500 kids from the NAZI’s. The text states, “When the Nazis invaded her native Poland and rounded up all the Jews into a walled-in ghetto, Sendler knew what was going to happen. She was a social worker and got credentials as a nurse so she could sneak food and medicine into the ghetto. What she snuck out was even more phenomenal… It’s estimated that Sendler and her group helped get approximately 2500 children out of the ghetto—sedated and placed in the bottom of toolboxes or lying in burlap sacks at the bottom of her truck—and sent them through a network of likeminded comrades to Christian orphanages, where they were given new identities.” Who knows how many lives she saved by the kids she saved and the children of the kids she saved. Eventually, Sendler was caught by the Nazis, who imprisoned and tortured her, breaking both of her legs.
In conclusion, there are many ways that people can get through conflict. But there are two ways that prove best. Bravery and courage are some of the most important things to have while going through conflict. As you can see from Winston Churchill, Sophie Scholl, Witold Pilecki and Amelia Earhart.
