Brian Cox's Accomplishments
Honor is having high respect or esteem. Honor to me is having respect and giving or showing appreciation to those who deserve it. Brian Edwards Cox was born on March 3, 1968 in Oldham, a suburb of Greater Manchester. In 1979 to 1986 Brian Cox attended and studied at the independent Hulme Grammar School. He then got his first class Bachelors of Science and Master of Philosophy degrees in Physics at Manchester University. Brian then performed with the pop group D:Ream, who had a number one hit with “Things Can Only Get Better”. After his band D:Ream disbanded in 1997 he completed his Doctor of Philosophy degree in high energy particle Physics also at the University of Manchester. Cox became a presenter in a five-part BBC Two series on television called Wonders of the Solar System during the early 2010. Brian Cox gave a lecture on “Science, a Challenge to TV orthodoxy” during the Royal Television Society’s Memorial Lecture also in 2010. In 2010 he won the won the Institute of Physics Kelvin Prize. He won numerous awards for television presenting roles, while “Wonders of the Solar System” was named best documentary of 2010. He was also appointed O.B.E. in 2010 for the Queen's birthday celebration. In January of 2011, Cox and comedian Dara O’ Briain hosted the BBC’s Stargazing Live. In December of 2011, he gave lectures about the basic principles of quantum mechanics. In June of 2012. Another series called Wonders of Life filmed which Cox describes as a physicist’s take on natural history and life. Brian Cox has made a lot of accomplishments and has been awarded and I think that he should be honored, because he has helped the community and the world around us. Brian Cox has made people smarter and more aware of physics. Brian Cox has helped us with Physics through books, radios, and televisions. Brian Cox should be honored for his work and helping the world learn more about Physics. His work can help the world and other people around
