Jenner was also a football player, but because of an injury in his college years he was forced to stop playing football. He then turned back to track and field.
Jenner had dyslexia and struggled in school at a young age, but he excelled in sports. Later, Jenner retired from sports and became a popular motivational speaker, television sports commentator, and author. Jenner is head of, “Bruce Jenner Aviation”, a firm that sells aircrafts and to executive corporations. He has also written several books, including “The Decathlon Challenge: Bruce Jenner’s Story and Finding the champion within.” Jenner, the famous athlete has stated, “I always felt that my greatest assets was not my physical ability, it was my mental ability.” In the 70s, Bruce Jenner became a sports icon after winning the Summer Olympics. He starred on TV shows such as “CHiPs” and “The Love Boat” before he switched to the reality TV show “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Jenner was filmed in a dramatic film that went straight to DVD and was released 1992. April 2015, Jenner appeared in a TV interview with Diane Sawyer on the ABC’s 20/20. In the interview Jenner stated “That he identifies as a woman, using the gender-based pronouns “he’ and “we” at times while going through his personal history.” His family do support his decision on becoming a
woman. His mother was also interviewed by the press and she mentioned she was “unequivocally proud of Jenner and he did come out to her about his identity.” On June 1, 2015, Jenner announced on Twitter that she is now a woman, known as Caitlyn. “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.” The same day, Vanity Fair released its July 2015 photo shoot featuring Caitlyn Jenner as the front cover. Caitlyn made her first appearance on July 15, 2015 at the ESPY awards in Los Angeles, where she received the Arthur Ashe Award for courage. In her acceptance speech, she spoke about the difficulty of her transition: “I trained hard, I competed hard, and for that people respected me. But this transition has been harder on me than anything I could imagine, and that’s the case for so many others, besides me.
