Soccer balls for match use come in three different sizes which range from size 3 to size 5.

First of all, to know soccer, it is vital to know the origin and history of soccer. For

over a century, despite protests from the Italians, England has been credited as having

given birth to modern football. A claim which had looked quite solid until as recently as
2011, when a shocking find by historians traced football’s roots to a quite extraordinary place. An uncovered book, titled Vocabula, seemed to turn soccer’s history on its head.
Written by an Aberdonian (citizen of Aberdeen in Scotland) it detailed a game in which two teams played with a ball on a field roughly the size of the present regulation pitches.
Not only that, but terms such as keeper (goalkeeper), kick off, and switch halfs were also mentioned. How does this refute England’s claim, you might be thinking? Well, this account was written in the fourteenth century, more than 400 years before the English FA was formed. A football found behind a wall in Stirling Castle has been dated and named as the oldest in the world. It dates back to the fifteenth century. Finally, the oldest club

People all over the world can play this game, considering its simplicity. Asides from an offsides rules, the basic idea is to just get the ball into the opposing net without using your hands. People even who are not even that knowledgeable can play the game. This leads into another reason why soccer is the best game. The equipment needed to play soccer is minimal. All you need is a soccer ball and and area to score. In fact, kids in Africa, who are not as fortunate enough to have some of the equipment that we have, can still play the game. It is seen in several instances on the news, where kids in Africa are viewed dribbling the ball.
Furthermore, size does not matter in this sport. Unlike basketball, people who are not tall can still greatly excel at this game. Soccer may just be the professional team sport where size matters the least. Some of the best players, like Messi, Maradona and Romario, have been an average height of 5 '5" or 5 '6".

Soccer rules are different from any other sports. One rule that has stayed the same since soccer began is only the goalie may touch the ball with his hands. Players are not allowed to trip, hold, shove, push, kick or strike any other player on the field. When players break these rules, the other team gets the ball and may be given a free shot to earn a goal. Each team may have eleven players on the field at the same time.…

Now that you have an idea of the rules of professional soccer, I will continue to explain the popularity and passion of the game. Soccer is very widely played all over the world. The most prestigious international soccer competition is that of the world cup, held every four years, it lasts about a month, the most recent one being held in South Africa world cup 2010. With more than a billion viewers a day and tuned in to approximately 30 billion times, it is more popular than the Super Bowl, the World Series, the Masters, and the NBA finals. One reason many researchers believe it is so popular, especially in third world countries is because of the lack of things needed in order to play. All you need is a goal and a ball. Soccer is so much a part of so many people’s everyday lives.…
