BTEC L3 UNIT 4 P1M1
Unit 4: Business Communications
In this assignment I will be investigating the different types of business information that exist in Apple Inc.
P1:
Verbal Information:
Face to face verbal communication is the best way to communicate as there is no misunderstanding as there is clear communication between the speaker and the audience, also there will be direct feedback and questions can be answered instantly. For example Apple will hold press conferences revealing their new products and will hold business meetings; however this can be time consuming. The purpose of the verbal information in meetings is so the business can be informed of how their markets are changing and developing and also if any new laws are being passed that may affect the way they operate. Also they may use this information to talk about what their competitors are doing and what their sales look like in order to make sure that they don’t fall behind in sales and lose market share. Apple can obtain this type of information from external sources through research.
Written Information:
Written information can be used to represent other forms of physical representation, such as diagrams, graphs and charts and other visual representations. Apple would use written information for blueprints of their products they are planning to create. Written information can be used to update knowledge by sending out emails within employees informing them of any changes that have been made. This source of information can be gathered internally from departments such as production and human resources.
On-screen Information:
On screen information is information produced on screen; this can be seen on multimedia TV, and CD-ROMs that combine text, graphics, animation, audio and video. Apple use on-screen information on their websites and TV adverts to promote their products. This will be necessary to inform customers of future products in order to make sure sales will
