Bud Not Buddy Sparknotes
What would of changed
Jhace Adkins Bam! You have no technology what do you do? Well, that’s what Bud had to go through in the book Bud Not Buddy. Bud is a 10-year-old African American boy, who lost his mom at the age of 6. No bud doesn't he never even knew his dads name. But since then Bud has been on many let's say fun adventures and even kissing a girl but he was a foster child and escaped from this family named the Amos. Bud, Not Buddy would have been a deferent book if there would have been modern technology because he could have called his dad, he could have watched tv instead of fitting with Todd, and the police would of caught up with him faster. To begin with, bud could have found his dad and that would completely change the story as a whole. If he could have called his dad he wouldn't of had to walk all the way to grand rapids to see him. In chapter 6 decides to go to grand rapids If he could have known how far it would be he wouldn’t walk it. Bud could have called his dad for directions to go to grand rapids or even take the bus. He could have even called his father's family to pick him up. That’s how the story would of changed.

Once he arrived, he immediately displayed his immaturity and lack of social etiquette, chewing gum of the rails in a subway, crossing the street at dangerous times, and taking the claim of a coffee shop to have “the world’s best coffee” quite literally. Once he found his father, Hobbs was incredulous and had him thrown out. Unlike Kelp, Buddy is handsome, has a tanned complexion, so looks healthy and is wearing a sharply tailored blue suit. However his hair and suits may seem to be a little out of fashion as it is a ‘teddy boy' look where this craze was on its way out in 1963. This may be simply due to fashion moving faster than the film industry or it could be an insult to Dean Martin, who Jerry Lewis parodies whilst playing this part. Buddy's body language is different to Kelp's. He stands up straight and is a lot more purposeful with his movements, this reflects his over-confident character. The camera tends to stay on Buddy longer with less cuts. This also shows him as a purposeful strong character.…

To be a great actor you must absorb your characters needs, wants, and desires. Throughout each moment of the play, the actor that played Buddy engulfed those three things to deceive the audience into believing he was Buddy the elf. The actor made this clear throughout the play by the thrill in the way they moved, the excitement in their voice, and how he was able to display how he felt to the audience with his facial expressions. The character Buddy transforms through the course of the play from being an innocent child from the North Pole, to being let down by the bitter real world that he thought so highly of. The actor didn’t skip a beat consuming the premise of the character ate every moment of the play, making it impossible to detect…
