P1: describe the main job roles and function in an organization
In this task i need to show different jobs roles of the business and also to show the function of the each jobs role and to do this i have choose ASDA for this task.
What is ASDA?
Asda Stores Ltd. is a British supermarket chain. To make profit ASDA sell different products like food, clothing, toys and general merchandise. It became a subsidiary of the American retail giant Wal-Mart, the world’s largest store, in 1999. In this day asda is the second largest supermarket after Tesco in the UK.

Job roles
Directors
The responsibilities of the directors are looking after shareholders' interests. The director of ASDA has the responsibility for ensuring the success of ASDA in such areas like health and safety, employment law, for example is ASDA complying with the minimum wage act.
Manager
The responsibitlies of a manager is to motivate staff, setting targets and recuting and dismissing staff, allocating work, communicating planning and decision making, problem solving. A manager in ASDA will supervise and manage the overall performance of the staff in the whole department. The managers are involved with employing staff to work for them they are also involved in the career development.
Area manager
They are manager has has to make major and long term decisions which could be vital to Asda, obviously he has to actually run he business day in day out and he has to attend regularly board of directors meetings plus he has to do basic and boring paperwork for most of each day.
Finance manager
The financial manager is responsible for budgeting, projecting cash flows, and determining how to invest and finance projects. So in asda finance manager responsible for money that come in and goes out.
IT and Administration
They ensure the faultless operation of the ASDA. They are in charge cleaning, server management, software support, health and safety, clerical duties, research and dispatching mail.
