After carefully analyzing your Coffee Shoppe, I have found several aspects that are considered strengths and weaknesses. Tim’s Coffee Shoppe has already established its presence in the busy downtown area of Sunnydale, Illinois. Your shop is located by a large college and Horvath and Arbanes Station, which are major bus stations. The shops’ location is great because of the steady traffic flow throughout the day and it is accessible from several parts of town. The shop is lacking a few technological updates as well as organization. From my analysis, I concluded that only accepting payments in the form of cash is making you lose some of your potential customers. The shop should accept several forms of payments to better accommodate the customers’ preference and increase revenue. Everything should be done electronic with hardcopies as back up documents. The menu should be revamped as well. The shops’ is spacious all around, however the back rooms are clutter especially in the storage area. If you could clear the clutter, you would have more room for storing supplies. You could buy materials at a larger capacity which would save you some money, since buying in bulk is more cost effective. According to the income statement in your file cabinet, your supplies for the previous year cost you $135,827. As far as management, you have ten employees and the majority of them seem satisfied with their employment there but you can sense the morale is low. One of the hardest challenges employers face is boosting morale. We will need to think of creative ways to approach the employees and their overall opinions about their job. It would be in wise to seek new employees or assign current employees, who are strong in leadership to management positions. If you were to go this route it would be in your best interest to assign one to each shift. Also with reviewing your income…

Java Culture, a coffee shop that serves the Oregon area of the United States, offers best tasting coffee beverages. The coffee shop makes use of high quality ingredients that are prepared under very strict guidelines. There are a number of business concepts that can be charted to be able to directly compete with the business; Java Culture. First, the business should offer premium quality coffee that is imported from the premium cocoa growing countries such as Brazil. The preparation process should follow the most pristine quality preparation guidelines thus ensuring that the products of firm are of very high quality and thus serve the purpose of the premium quality offering (Longenecker, Petty & Palich, 2012). Rather than focus on a few products as Java Culture currently does, there should be a focus on the provision of a wide variety of products for instance brewed teas, espresso drinks and other refreshment beverages which will be sold at the coffee bar of the firm. The firm can also add more products for instance sandwiches, pastries for the clients as well as small salads (Ferrell & Hartline, 2011). Coffee beans and preparation information will also be offered to the gourmet customers who usually prefer to make their coffee in the comfort of their homes. The variety of the offering will act to attract more customers to the firm thus they will be able to significantly capture a great deal of market share from the various competitors of the firm.…

Since the 1950’s the café has been using very, very old equipment. That equipment includes: old cash registers, espresso makers, coffee makers, and so on. But the most important old method that was being used is the manual entry of time and attendance. Now since I have started upgrading the café, I feel that it is now time for a new time system. This particular time system will allow employees to key in a special employee number that will automatically stamp the time displayed on the clock. The same method will be used for clocking out for lunch and clocking out for good.…

I have recently inherited my Grandfather’s coffee shop, The Broadway Café, which is conveniently located in Troy, Michigan near Walsh College. The café offers many different kinds of specialized coffees, teas, and a full service bakery. Since the café opened in 1952 it has been a local hotspot for people near the neighborhood. Unfortunately, my Grandfather was very “old school” so the café is in great need of some renovation. The Café needs faster ways to put in orders, track inventory and sales, and a website to market new ideas. As the new owner, I need to analyze some new ideas and look into opportunities within networks to bring business back to the 21st century.…
