Health and Safety at work Act 1974 - The Health and Safety at work Act helps keep the environment safe and secure by making sure that visitors sign in and people who are working in the setting are CRB checked and that gates and doors are securely locked.
Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) - COSHH helps keep the environment safe and secure by making sure that chemicals are locked away in a lockable cupboards out of reach from the children.
Data Protection Act 1998 - The DPA helps keep the environment safe and secure by keeping the childrens details in a lockable filing cabnet or a pass worded computer which only the right people are allowed to access too. And the information can only be given out to the appropriate people.
Food Handling Regulations 1995 - The food handling regulations where put in place to help prevent spreading germs and illnesses when preparing food they help keep a safe and secure environment by making sure you wash your hands before handling food, making sure they was dishes correctly and use the correct coloured knives and chopping boards when preparing food.
The children act 2004 - The children act from 2004 brought in Every Child Matters (ECM) which has five outcomes, Being Healthy, Staying Safe, Enjoying and Achieving, Making a positive contribution and Achieving economic well being, these are put in place to stick by to help a Childs needs they are used to keep a safe and secure environment by making sure that any outdoor play areas are padded with soft and all weather flooring. and also making sure that the children are safe by using this flooring and protective gates with good staff ratios

When a child receives a bump on the head you need to apply a cold compress to the Childs head and make sure that the Childs injury is recorded in the accident book and made sure that at the end of the day the book is shown to whoever is picking up that child and they sign it to
