We had a positive experience within our team. Canned food drives are a great way to help any charitable organization that works with the homeless or families in need. Although they are most popular during the holidays, canned food drives provide assistance that many people and organizations need all year. Planning and organizing a canned food drive was a great community service project. We knew it was necessary to set the goals for the team and define the boundaries in which we worked.
There were key elements that helped us reach our objective, we were all willing to participate in team's activities. Each of us had common purposes as to why we chose to donate. We were able to come together on meeting dates where we discussed ways to obtain can goods from family, friends, and coworkers. We made sure to include efforts from the side of every member. We had a minor disagreement as to what company we chose to help service but we then possessed a common vision and became focused on the same objectives. Each team member took an active part in direct implementation of the plan we developed. There were some important norms in creating and maintaining team effectiveness. Some of them were each member participate in discussions about our service plan, attentive listening, consensus decision making and freely expressed ideas.
We chose to donate to Faith Tabernacle church of god which happens to be a predominantly African American church in Southfield MI. Sadly 50.1 million Americans struggle to put food on the table. More than 1 in 5 children is
