Not all Texans can take care of themselves; as they age they become unable to do so, or they have disabilities that do not let them perform their lives like other Texans. The Department of Aging and Disability Services was created, and is lead by the commissioner to ensure Texans had the resources needed to live out their life safely and normal.…

For me I would say that my dad is not supportive to me. My mom and my dad they divorced and then my mom married another person which is the one I live with now. I feel really good with my stepdad, and my mom is happy. My biological dad to me, it just the memories from the past that I hate. I would like to forget about the past memories and it would be easy for me to become a different person. He is the one that I will not ask any help and any supports…
I may not know everything about a car, but I have learned quite a bit from my father. Everyday lessons from dad always help in any situation, especially when you are the girl that walks into the mechanics station, and your looked at like you know absolutely nothing, and sadly, most of the time, you get taking advantage of. The purpose of this essay is to share my experience of changing brake pads, by giving a step-by-step guide.…

People have called me a mama’s boy all of my life. I freely admit that I still am a mama’s boy to this day, even though my mama has been dead for 17 years. I talk to her every day as if she were still here with me.…
Suppose that you come across a newborn baby laying behind a dumpster. What would you do? Look the other way or decide to raise that baby as your own. Raising a newborn till they become an adult, takes a tremendous amount of hard work. It requires loving, caring, pleasing the baby forever as well as being able to clean the house, work for money, and lots of others. Once you get the hang of it becomes easier. Therefore, by being heroic throughout harsh-durations you attain the impression of comfort.…
Growing up as the oldest was challenging, making it more difficult was the fact that you're the only girl with 4 brothers.…
I am sure you find many letters coming across your desk from parents who have taken the opportunity to ‘brag’ about their child. I know mine won’t be the best, but I hope that I do my daughter justice at the end. As most parents do, especially with their first child, they keep a folder of milestones their child has reached throughout their years; a folder filled with report cards, love letters, photos, school projects, etc. When I look back at one of Morgan’s Kindergarten project “All about Me”, I couldn’t agree more with the saying on the front of her book exclaiming, ”There is nobody in the world exactly like me!”. It’s exactly how I feel about Morgan.…
It was the year 2012, when I experienced a life-changing event, which led to my transition from childhood into adulthood. This event was my parent’s divorce. During this time I was scared and hurt, because my parents’ separation not only meant the parting of my parents-but parting from the life I’ve always known as a child. The separation moved at an almost mockingly lackadaisical pace. Months tediously dragged on, and even after the legal separation my life was never as it once was. I started to appreciate the people who were present in my life and how precious family stability is. The idea of losing my mother or father to divorce made me realize that this could have easily been a loss due to an illness. I grew to appreciate that I am lucky to have them in my life period. It was at this time that I seriously thought about working in health care; a field that aims to prolong human lives. This event of my childhood that some might even call traumatic, bettered me, and brought me into the adult world.…
When I got to St. Vincent’s hospital I thought I was in labor but the doctor said my water wasn’t broken yet. So I had to walk up and down the hallway for the baby to come down. Then finally the doctor pulled my water. And oh my god I was in so much pain. The nurse said” Keep pushing, the baby is almost out.” With a final push I had my baby. She was the most beautiful little baby with dark hair and big light brown eyes. I called Diana.…
I belong to the classification of people know as educators. I am a teacher and unfortunately, I am not a mother. Yet. Just recently my younger sister of 28 years, just gave birth to her third child. The most beautiful seven point fifty-two pound little baby girl. With hair brown like melted chocolate and eyes the color of honey, dressed up in a pink mommy’s little girl onesie. I see her kids every day and I see other parent’s kids every day too, but why don’t I have any of my own. I thought about that as I sat there rocking little Evelyn in my arms and it suddenly occurred to me that I, too, would like to be a mother. Not just an educator or an aunt, but a mother with a baby of her own. Why do I want a Baby?…
It is a beautiful day in Sacramento, California and I am just getting lunch at “Mrs. Castillo’s home for Orphans” while I was eating string cheese and carrots with my best friend Elijah, my other friend Allie ran into the cafeteria and said “Hey! Samara! I have something for you, from Mrs. Castillo! After she was done sprinting, she handed me a note that said “Mrs. Castillo’s office, and I looked at the bottom and I saw something circled… and it said NOW!!! In all capitals. I knew that I did something wrong, I just knew it! I was so nervous I felt like I was going to throw up. As soon as I got up to the door I knocked, and heard her say “Come in my dear.” I walked in the door, and as soon as I got in there she turned around…
Nobody can teach someone else how to grow up. No matter how hard you wish some people will grow up at their own pace, you can not force someone to give up their childish way of thinking or feeling.…
I did my research on Dad's experiences during the pregnancy process and I found a very interesting article on the database titled "Prospective fathers' adverse childhood experiences, pregnancy-related anxiety, and depression during pregnancy". Fathers can become stressed or have anxiety during the mothers pregnancy. Whether the father has anxiety during pregnancy depends on their past experiences. According to Smith (2015), "Anxious and depressive feelings during pregnancy can be related to relational disharmony with their partners" (p. 110). For example if their past relationships had problems they might have anxiety of what will happen once the baby is born. The father experiences so much feelings and disorders during the pregnancy because they become attached to their partner and start feeling the same feelings the mother has.…
