Cannon Memorial Chapel is a completely independent building at University of Richmond functioning as a Baptist church. Stained-glass windows are almost synonymous with all kinds of the church building, concealing walls than the painting hanging on the wall. Moreover, they send and not reflect light, filtering and transforming the natural sunlight with special mystical quality Most of the painting in stained-glass windows are the Holy Scriptures and since their brilliance lets the magnificent light pass into the church, they enlighten that believer inside from the portrait of holy Bible. Also as the basic function of windows, those Holy Scriptures’ glasses expel the wind, rain and pass the sunlight into the church. The believer has a feeling of protection from god and Holy Scriptures.
From the basic structure and form of this Chapel, it is obviously to all of us that the basic function of this chapel serves as the religion building.
