The book “Canyons” by Gary Paulsen is a difficult but great book for 8th graders.
The story of Canyons takes place at a canyon, desert. The weather was sunny and hot.
The main characters of this book are coyote runs and brennan. Coyote is an ancient character who died in the late 1800. Brennan is a teenage boy who is in 9th grade. They do not live in the same time period.
Brennan finds a skull in the canyon and he takes the skull home to come back and find out that his mom found the skull. His mom calls the police and Brennan runs away with the skull to return it back to the canyon.
I liked this book because it was interesting and fun to read. It made me feel like i was in the book because of how descriptive it was. I would change some
parts of the book to make them easier because the were difficult. I would recommend this book to a friend because it is very intriguing.
