Descriptive Words In Cole's Touching Spirit Bear
In the book, Touching Spirit Bear, a boy named Cole has a bad temper, and it gets him into trouble more than once. His anger puts him in a predicament that almost causes him jail time. An Indian group called Circle Justice, focused on helping troubled teens, steps in to help. As a result, Cole has to spend a year on an island in south-east Alaska. There he is mauled by a rare black bare that is completely white called the Spirit Bear. Although he suffers near fatal injuries on the outside, his wounds on the inside begin to heal causing his life to change.

The book is amazing, but it is lacking in the use of descriptive words. It seems dull in some points of this book. It is all around a good book in many other ways though. It shows Cole's

In the novel spirit bear by Ben Mikaelsen, the main character is cole, cole is very independent, I know this because on page (3,4) there is a sentence in the passage that said, “He didn't trust anyone who wasn't afraid of him” He is also feeling mad and kind of sad because his parents don't really seem to care about him, as shown in this sentence on page (9) in the passage cole said “He hated his parents his mom acted like a scared barbie doll, always looking good but never fighting back or standing up to someone, his dad a bullheaded drinker with a temper. In the novel spirit bear by Ben Mikaelsen, cole is in a jail debating to set things right and send him to zoo to to appreciate animals as shown in this sentence on page (11) in the story…

Touching Spirit Bear is an breath-taking and action-packed story about a boy named Cole who has done bad things in his life so he has to spend a year on an island in Alaska. I think the flashbacks have to be the most important story element. The book uses lots of flashbacks to get people to know a lot about Cole’s past. The flashbacks are important because at the beginning of the story he is going to the island and during the following chapters it has flashbacks that explain and tell the reasons and explanations of why he is going to the island in the first place.…

The book was an interesting way to look at the future. It made me think that you never know what life has in store for you. The characters were all unique but at the same time they seemed lost in the sense that they didn’t know what they truly wanted. To me, Beatty was a complex character because although he was a fireman and he agreed with society about the trouble caused by books, he himself seemed to use his knowledge acquired from books against Montag. I think the title was very well chosen.…

This book was very different than anything I have ever read. I am still deciding whether I liked it or not. It was hard for me to follow because it kept jumping back in forth in time. The first three chapters I hap kept re-reading to focus and grasp what was going on. I was extremely confused and it went from the opening scene in 1931 to Milkman being four years old in one paragraph. I do feel this is a book you need to read over and over again to fully gain an understanding of the messages and symbols the author was displaying through each character. I thought the book was interesting that although it dealt with racial issues and focused on how characters such as Guitar and Milkman had different views of status and discrimination, their was very little mention of white characters in the book. The majority if not all the characters were black decent and it was purely one sided view on how the black race dealt with racial issues in a small town at that time. I think Pilate was a crazy character and I didn't like how long it dragged out to find the true nature of why her relationship was the way it was with her brother Macon Dead Jr. I feel like the author was changing the subject and jumping around so much that you never fully get to know any one character. I didn't like how the author killed Milkman in the end, it was as if you finally made some self discovery and then he jumps to his death. The book just builds and layers and builds, and when you finally feel like you might understand where it's leading three of the main characters die within the last pages. Aside from racial views and Milkmans self discovery from his life as his fathers son, to discovering his family history and where he wants to be in the future, I didn't really connect with any other character in the book, or understand their significance in his discovering…

When we start to read “Touching Spirit Bear”, we understand that Cole is very aggressive liar but who is hurt from loneliness. He doesn’t have friends, his parents don’t care and the only thing what he got from his parents was beating from his dad. He tries to hide his hurt under the aggression and he loses his control under the emotions. The aggression shows a lot in this book but the best scene is when Cole beats up Peter who told the police on him for stealing. Because of this fight Peter get mental problems. He was many times in detention centers, so people wanted him to be sent in jail. But then Cole found out about Circle of Justice. He get a meeting with them and there he makes a show which will represent him good. When Cole was asked by people in the Circle of Justice why they should trust him, he wanted to say “Cause if you don’t, I’ll knock your fat heads off. Instead he said politely “You shouldn’t,’ keeping his face serious as he could,”. (20) When it was his father turn to speak Cole lost his entire role. He got aggressive again because his father was lying to the community. He didn’t notice that he was lying too to the community. Cole’s father said that he wants the best for him but only what he wants is to be far away from his child. Also the reader can understand…

First of all, my opinion of this book is that it was a satisfying book. I just think it was a little strange, but that's what makes the book good. Iike in the book, I like how some things are worded. Like how you worded “ Heaven can’t possibly be better than this, thought Matt, swirling the sweet soda had to be right up there with El Patron’s moro crab cakes from Yuca” I like the comparison between the strawberry soda and crab cakes from Yuca. My opinion of these book is it’s a good book, but not the best.…

This is good as for most of the book they are serpent, both fighting the war, and losing terribly. You get to see Caden’s view on Bree, and find that they are very similar and different in ways. Bree who feels like she loves Caden, can’t stop looking into his cool gray eyes and seeing his father. Where Caden who shares none of the personality traits as his father, cannot help but be frustrated on how childish his father is acting, how the man who raised him, can murder thousands to get at a weapon and a princess. If only the king and Caden knew that they were the same person. Caden risk everything for Bree, but her response is only to push him away, and then draw him closer to her once again. Caden and Bree has a lot to sort out, good thing the boat ride to Nereidum is long, but not long…

It describes things very detailed and in a sequence of events that are very detailed. I remember many things of what happened to Katie that are described throughout the book. Nicholas Sparks described her past very well and in a lot of details. He also described a lot of things about Alex too and his young 2 children. I think the author was effective of conveying the author’s purpose because he created a love story with a twist that people love. I felt many emotions as the author got deeper into explaining the characters. I got very attached to both of the characters and felt sadness when something bad happened to them.…

The book is written with such interest by the author himself that , I felt I had seen all the incidents which happened in the book with my own eyes. It is truly a piece of art, I loved it. And as Sunday Times commented it is “BEWITCHING”!!! The interesting vocabulary used by Gerald Durrell did not make the book boring, but more interesting and I found that unique. While the book was not very emotional, I could feel what every character felt. The emotions were so strong. I felt that I was feeling happiness when anyone in the book was. An engrossing book I must…
