This quote stated by Bhattarai Aman is what made me think a little deeper about capital punishment “The death penalty is justified because it – and it alone – pays proper respect to the importance of human life.” A human’s life is the most important thing in this world. Everyone may take different paths in life but there is one thing that every person has in common, and that is the overly used acronym nowadays by teenagers “YOLO” (meaning “You only live once”). Being alive is a privilege, taking that away from someone is the worst punishment that can be done to an individual. If someone takes the fate of human lives in their hands, wouldn’t that mean that he/she is choosing their own fate when put in front of a jury as well?
When the conversation about capital punishment comes into conversation people become very skeptical and contradicting in many ways. Some people say it is immoral and that a person’s life is shouldn’t be put to question when it comes as punishment to a crime. When in reality the person who is in question of being executed most likely murdered and or raped more than one person. Changing the fate of their lives, so why shouldn’t you change theirs? Everyone in this world has their own opinion on capital punishment. Some agree, others disagree, then there is people that agree and disagree at the same time.
Personal Thoughts When I decided to choose this topic I did not think too much about it. I figured it would be a walk in the park until I realized how controversial this topic really is. Capital punishment isn’t only talking about whether letting gays marry, or not allowing people to have certain animals, and it certainly isn’t talking about the little things in life. It means taking someone’s life for a crime they have committed. Life or death gets chosen for a person by other people.
Personal Analysis
I am one of those people that agree and disagree with capital punishment. I contradict myself constantly. Let me give
