To elaborate, I volunteer through many clubs and organizations at various places. Usually on weekends, I volunteer at the St. Johns Hospital. Through National Honor Society, for which I serve as president, Key Club, Club Scrubs and the Interact Rotary International club, I have volunteered at the food bank, many school events, and at nursing homes. Additionally, I spend about an hour a day just reading my favorite book at the moment.
At least once a week I go to the studio and dance. I dance an ancient Indian classical art form called Bharatanatyam, hip hop, and also various Bollywood styles. Specifically, Bharatanatyam is my favorite and closest to my heart. This is the activity I like the best and there are so many reasons pertaining to why this is so. This vocal expression is ancient and has bonded me to my culture and roots. Every week, at least twice, I attend taekwondo classes and this year I attained my black belt. I reached a big milestone after four years of hard work and constant participation and successes at tournaments. One of my biggest accomplishments from taekwondo occurred when I placed first in the Dallas Taekwondo International tournament, my first tournament, which I did not expect.
