Case Analysis Of The HR Manager At Alpha Inc.
The HR managers at Alpha Inc. have quite a major job to accomplish in order to aid in the whole process of merging go smoothly without conflicts among employees and management. As the merging requires only 20% of Alpha’s employees, it is very clear that not much can be done to ensure job security. This situation makes it quite clear that a major portion of employees, that is, 80% of Alpha’s employees will be laid off over the period of three months.
However, the most important job of the HR managers at this point is to communicate this condition effectively among employees in order to reduce and discourage politics among employees. Also, the job of HR managers is to diminish any chances of conflict that may arise.

The information should be communicated in chunks, keeping in mind how open the receivers are toward the information, and how much they can absorb the given information.
It should also be kept in mind by the HR managers that employees belong to diverse backgrounds with diverse perspectives and skills. Information about conditions of merger and the situation needs to be handled by the HR managers in a way that the diverse workforce does not feel that any sort of discrimination is being practiced by the authorities, and 20% employees to be retained will be chosen according to a proper system and fair decision.
This factor plays a very important part in reducing discontent among employees. Once the employees realize and believe that they will be chosen according to a fair system, based on performance and consistency or any other specified criteria which is deemed and considered fair by the employees, and the employees are agreed on it, they will be willing to cooperate and understand the conditions of the

How to perform both these tasks is what can be communicated by the HR managers to the employees in order to help them reduce discontent and improve communication. Efficiently communicating strategies to employees for stress management is a major part of the job of HR managers of Alpha Inc.
Effective communication of the employees to the upper management is also important and is managed by the HR managers most of the time as well. The HR managers can deal with this by communicating the expectations of the employees to the upper level management. Also, the HR managers are like mediators in this case. Hence, their role is very important on both sides. Back and forth communication among the upper and lower level of employees and communication of their expectations and needs, if effectively communicated, can create wonders for all people, since a major part of misunderstanding is issues in communication.
Hence, all these strategies can be implemented and applied by the HR managers at Alpha Inc in order to ensure effective communication and reduced discontent among the members of
