In accordance with the most current CEDMS Defense Military Pay Office Desktop Guide, original documents are NOT destroyed earlier than 90 days after the documents have been successfully uploaded into CEDMS.
5. CMS CASES:
a. The Case Management System (CMS) is used to systematically control Military Pay cases being researched or corrected at Central Site. An inventory of all cases currently open, or those closed within the last 45 days, is maintained. Cases are established based upon input made by the Field Finance Offices via DJMS, by file searches and management notices, and created manually by an Employee. The CMS system also provides management with a tool to validate standards, evaluate training needs, obtain accurate statistical data for workload control, and monitor corrective actions taken by Central Site.
b. Technicians will review DMPO box within CMS and identify cases belonging to the section and check for new actions taken on cases three times per week. Technicians can request status of cases that have had no action taken or are still open every 14 business
