The Boring Company's mission is to dig 3-D underground tunnels below cities to solve the problems related to traffic congestion and increase the speed of transport as a whole. Founded by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX, the company has already started digging tunnels in LA and has claimed approval for at least another project in Baltimore. Though digging tunnels may sound very boring, the aptly named company has some colorful and funny tales to tell.

It is about two men who wait for someone named Godot but he never arrives. In April 2017, The Boring Company purchased its essential equipment for boring, the TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine). A month later it was named Godot, named after the character from the play. Moreover, Musk declared that new TBMs purchased in the future will also be named after poems and plays. Apparently their latest TBM is named line-storm which is actually a poem by Robert Frost named 'A Line-Storm Song'.
The hat and the flame thrower
Almost a year after Musk famously started The Boring Company, he came back on twitter with another unconventional way of raising the funds. He was going to sell black baseball caps with the company name printed on the front. Musk announced that if he managed to sell 50,000 caps he will then start selling flamethrowers, something that many members of the social media were never heard of. The caps priced at $20 met the goal and flamethrowers were on its way. Projected as world's safest, the flamethrower is prized at $500. They became so popular that within the first 24 hours Musk was able to sell a whopping $2 million worth of flamethrowers. So, what could be next?
