During the initial clinical therapy session each client was given a beck depression inventory scale to complete. I averaged the scores and submitted the scores scale on the Beck Depression scale using the BB1 single systems design. The scale starts off showing the women on the verge of experiencing moderate depression. “Homeless women comprise significant portion of the homeless population and may encounter multiple life stressors including mental illness, substance abuse, and trauma”( Ponce, Lawless, & Rowe, 2014).The clients were given a total of eight weeks to find a job if needed and improve their behavior in order to continue in the program. The reason for the time frame of eight weeks was due to the program only being a yearlong. By the time that the women enter this program they should be motivated to move efficiently and improve rapidly. Prior to entering this program the women have already completed a program through a halfway house such as Angela’s house as a requirement to enter this program and prove their dedication to making an overall change. Shortly after a case manager was assigned to each client and given a competency-based assessment to complete with the client to address any personal issues that may be causing the client to experience depression. The case manager worked with the clients alone for the first four weeks. During the second four weeks of the study a graduate of the program was brought in as an intern training for her LCDC. The intern will begin foundation classes weekly for the next month, by giving her own experience in the program and providing resources for the clients. This helps empower the women so that they are able to take better control of their lives. The clients are encouraged to ask for help any time and reminded of the mission of Brigid's
