Intervention: MHP, Anthony, MHS and Mrs. Gibbs process information from the intake individual therapy appointment. MHP facilitated a meeting with Mrs. Gibbs, MHS and Anthony. MHP, Anthony, MHS and Mrs. Gibbs discussed MHS concerns of Anthony refusing to comply with the home rules, reports of bullying at school, conflict with biological son and Anthony not wanting to change current unhealthy behaviors. MHP requested Anthony to express his feelings about possible placement disruption and possible alternative ways to improve past behaviors.
Response: Anthony expressed his day started bad and not caring about what happened to the rest of the day. Anthony
reported the therapist made him upset and felt there was no need to process the information. Mrs. Gibbs expressed one of Anthony’s coping skills is to shut down and shut people out. Mrs. Gibbs expressed Anthony is receiving supervision and Anthony did not report any safety concerns. MHS explained the reasons for the 30 day notice and expressed Anthony does not want to change his behaviors to improve his life. Anthony denied any knowledge of tension between self and MHS biological son, problems at school with peers and the continuous redirection from MHS. MHS reported creating a behavioral contract with Anthony for Anthony to gain awareness of his unhealthy behaviors and how those behaviors affect others.
Progress: Anthony made process changing the unhealthy behaviors in the home, community and school. Anthony is adjusting to the home making friends and learning the community.
Plan: MHP will provide Anthony and family support to learn and practice coping skills.
