Walls are up, stoves are in and staff applications are being processed. With an opening date of just three to four weeks, Simeon's Restaurant, on the Ithaca Commons, is hopeful to once again be a local favorite. "It's getting exciting. Everything is starting to get put together, we're finalizing the menu, we're starting to hire people and we're really seeing progress in there," explains, co-owner of Simeon's, Dean Zervos.

In February, Senator Schumer announced a federal transportation bill will add $40 million in Highway Safety Improvement Program funding for New York. Some of the money could help the City of Ithaca pay for road and intersection safety projects.
As far as Simeon's, Zervos says customers can expect a little of the old, blended with the new. Including a new second floor dining area and some new menu items. Zervos says he's excited to start working with returning staff members and getting to see old customers. "Just seeing the menu and everything put together and of course seeing a lot of the people I haven't seen in a while, that's the fun part," says
