The reason why is that Michele admits she wasn’t the most well-behaved kid in school and had no interest in going to college. She almost considered dropping out of high school when a front desk woman in the office took her under her wing. The woman made her due to bookkeeping work and other busy work around the office in order to keep her out of trouble. The woman’s source of support and faith made her want to go to college and get a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She wanted to work with children who felt like there was little hope. After her 4 years at college, she got a job at the state working in DCF, then went on to case managing juvenile delinquents for 12 years, and eventually ended up being a social worker for the elderly population; which she has been doing for 8 years. She only needed her bachelor degree and no additional licenses or certifications. She did emphasize that if one would want to work in clinical social work one must obtain their clinical social work license. Michelle will work an average of 40 hours at her job with little to no overtime provided.
