Case Study: Old Spice For A New Open Wound
Old Spice for a New Open Wound

When you put on deodorant you want to feel refreshed and confident. Where does searing, burning pain from chemical burns play in this equation? This is the question the members of a class action lawsuit are asking the Old Spice parent company, Proctor and Gamble.

According to the lawsuit, thousands of victims were subject to painful injuries that "range from rashes to third-degree chemical burns."

The attorney for the plaintiffs said, "Indeed, the problem is rampant, and rather than acknowledge the serious issue, the defendant is concealing it in order to continue selling the product and reaping windfall profits."

The documents further noted that “Deodorant is not intended to cause burning, rashes, irritation

When I read the General Motors Misled Grieving Families on a Lethal Flaw, an overwhelming sadness fell upon me. I was sad that 26 families had to bury family members die to faulty equipment in the Chevrolet Cobalts. The key ethical issue is that General Motors knew that the black boxes in the Cobalts confirmed the potential fatal defect existing in hundreds of thousands of cars (Stout et al., 2014). Another ethical issue was the fact that GM would tell the families of the victims that they had no knowledge of any defects in their cars and once the families wanted to sue they would threaten to come after them or even said they would sue the families. One more issue that is ethical is GM didn’t immediately recall the Chevy Cobalts after the first…

Old Spice is an exceptional brand founded on a rich history. It has succeeded in transforming itself from a brand that was more focused towards my generation’s grandparents to a new millennium sensation for younger crowds to utilize by using the market penetration product strategy. Proctor and Gamble currently owns the Old Spice brand and takes up a considerable amount of the men’s grooming market segment. Old Spice is still managing to maintain a competitive advantage and is growing toward its peak in its product life cycle with little product attributes that differentiate themselves from their competitors. Proctor and Gamble is currently expanding Old Spice’s product mix and maintains competitive pricing. Old Spice’s brand is promoted a highly rated advertising strategy and distributes its products intensively to retailers and wholesalers.…

According to the article, Animal Experimentation states, “150 brain-damaged baboons at the University of Pennsylvania's Head Injury Clinic in 1983. The Animal Liberation Front, a group that uses threats, sabotage, and other illegal means to draw attention to animal cruelty, claimed responsibility for a raid at the clinic and worked with PETA to publicize the situation” (Driscoll S Finley Paragraph 18). This evidence supports my claim because it shows that all kinds of animals can get hurt by even the littlest thing that is tested on them. This is important because it shows by just testing one product is show that it caused them to get hurt/injured. The main reason why this is so bad for the animals is that it shows why and how when animals are tested on more that kills than and eventually, they will become extinct. The connection between why it hurts animals and why they should not feel this way shows that people are hurting the animals by testing on them so they have no rights whatsoever. Even though they are hurting animals for experimentation there are many side effects of the main disease or issue the experiment has caused. For example, in the article Animal Experimentation they states, “In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new products to infecting with diseases, poisonous for toxicity tests, burning skin,…
