Animal Experimentation: The Bad Side Effects Of Animal Testing On Animals
Animal experimentation is not a thing to joke about, people are using animals against their will to test products on them. This is relevant in life because people will joke around about how the animals are fine but there are many side effects if the makeup is not right or correct. For example, Covergirl the makeup company has tested on animals since 2012. Covergirl tests on adorable kittens for the face makeups like lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, etc. The results of testing makeup products can vary. Animal experimentation does bad things to animals and they should have their own rights because experimentation creates inequality among animals, harmful side effects on animals and lastly, there are alternate populations to test.

According to the article, Animal Experimentation states, “150 brain-damaged baboons at the University of Pennsylvania's Head Injury Clinic in 1983. The Animal Liberation Front, a group that uses threats, sabotage, and other illegal means to draw attention to animal cruelty, claimed responsibility for a raid at the clinic and worked with PETA to publicize the situation” (Driscoll S Finley Paragraph 18). This evidence supports my claim because it shows that all kinds of animals can get hurt by even the littlest thing that is tested on them. This is important because it shows by just testing one product is show that it caused them to get hurt/injured. The main reason why this is so bad for the animals is that it shows why and how when animals are tested on more that kills than and eventually, they will become extinct. The connection between why it hurts animals and why they should not feel this way shows that people are hurting the animals by testing on them so they have no rights whatsoever. Even though they are hurting animals for experimentation there are many side effects of the main disease or issue the experiment has caused. For example, in the article Animal Experimentation they states, “In research and testing, animals are subjected to experiments that can include everything from testing new products to infecting with diseases, poisonous for toxicity tests, burning skin, …show more content…
Some people believe that humans shouldn’t be tested on because they could feel sad because they believe that they just killed or injured someone that is their own kind. According to the article, Animal Experimentation it states “ More and more scientists are taking a hard look at the relevance of animal experiments for human diseases and improving our lives. The evidence is showing that we can actually get much better answers about human health and develop much more effective therapies if we use human-based tests instead”(Driscoll S Finley Paragraph 24). This shows how bad the humans should feel for the animals and should want to use them

Not only humans, but animals also benefit from the use of animal testing. In fact, if animals aren’t used for medical research certain vaccines for rabies, hepatitis and other diseases wouldn’t be curable (Trull). However, many people argue that the human anatomy differs from that of animals. Nonetheless, animals and humans still share common features. For example, monkeys, just like humans, share the same fundamental use of hormones to counteract infections, which has helped scientist improve research (Trull). For the people who doubt animal testing should go to hospitals and look at patients who have survived from illnesses and diseases, because if it had not been for animals lives wouldn’t be…

Animal experimentation is a highly controversial subject throughout the world and in the 20th century the public has become increasingly aware of the two sides to animal testing. The earliest dated animal testing can be traced back to 384-322 BCE and it is still a common practice to this day. There are a few disagreements that are highly debated about animal experimentation such as the importance of the testing for scientific and medical goals, the suffering of the animals, and the ethical principles that apply to animals. Both sides of animal experimentation have their reasons and facts for why animal testing is ethical or unethical, but it comes down to the amount of pain the animals suffers and if it is morally correct.…

Research shows that 26 million animals have been used for testing of all different kinds. 26 million animals have been put through wringer for the sake of a human. 26 million animals have had no say, defense, or chance to save themselves. Animals are used as human experiments to see if a certain product can work or not. Animal testing is wrong on many different levels. Why is it that people think it is okay to conduct scientific experiments on animals? The most common response to this question is that human beings are intellectually superior to the other species of animals roaming the planet, but this reason alone is not enough to justify the act of animal experimentation. If that is the only reason that can be produced, then here is another question. “What about infants and mentally disabled people”, who are on the same, if not a lower, intellectual level as the animals that are experimented on, so how come people only perform scientific experiments on the animals? This is probably because it is considered unethical or immoral to scientifically experiment on a human being. So why is it ok to experiment on the animals? Maybe, because they cannot talk or defend themselves, so there is no way of asking for their consent. Where as if you wanted to test on a human, you would need that person’s…

In animal testing, countless animals are experimented on and then killed after their use is up. Some are injured and will still live the remainder of their life in captivity. The doctors will not do anything to help the animals that are in pain that happen to be the reason because of them. It is the aspect of animals testing that many view as a major negative against the practice, as it seems that the animal died in vain because no direct benefit to humans occurred. Even though animals and humans have many things in common like how we both have the same organ system, there are also many things that are different between animals and humans. Many animals cannot handle or take the same medication as humans, most the surgeries that are operated on animals are just too strong for an animal to take so they end up dying or sick for the rest of their lives. Satire On Animal Testing

Animals do not have a say once they are taken away from their current living space, and then killed or have to suffer through what the researchers put them through. These innocents now are being punished, abused, and now have more risks and a shortened life span. Realistically, in my opinion, in order to experiment on animals you really don’t have a heart. People who love animals, could never and would never experiment on them because the things that people do to them we really don’t deserve the satisfaction of animals. “Animals used in experiments are commonly subjected to force feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, the infliction of burns and other wounds to study the healing process, the infliction of pain to study its effects and remedies, and "killing by carbon dioxide asphyxiation, neck-breaking, decapitation, or other means." This piece of textual evidence is explaining how animals are not treated properly while being used in experimentation. Animals are forced to do things unwanted to, and also are deprived of certain things. Consider the people who have to do this for a living- they are finding cures for us humans, and also testing products such as cosmetics and shampoos and making sure that we can use them. You may think that animal testing is beneficial, but it's not, it's putting animals life in danger. Rabbits are used to test cosmetics and shampoos, during this process rabbits are powerless and have their eyelids opened by clips this can occur for days. Moving forward, as you can see many animals are harmed during the process and it is very heartbreaking to hear about the many animals that are hurt or killed to find cures for us. If you anyone who loves animals, if animal experimentation is okay, they would say it was abusive, because you taking the life of an innocent animal and putting it in…

I personally think animal testing is cruel. It is an inhumane thing to do, as animals too deserve to be treated normally, and not as objects that are just used to test whether a mascara is safe enough for a person's eyelashes or not. Furthermore, it has been proven that about 9%…

Animals testing is unethical because the pain and suffering that they are subjected to is not worth any possible benefits to humans. Scientists inject animals with irritating chemicals, genetically manipulate them to cause rare and painful genetic diseases, give them cancer and other diseases, and cause other injuries in the name of science. These animals are not given painkillers and are forced to endure prolonged agony before eventually dying…

Back in this time, it was only performed for scientific and religious reasons. It was once believed that animals did not have feelings and couldn’t feel pain from the tests, which is why scientists and researchers felt no guilt when treating animals as such insensitive objects. Cosmetics began to be tested on animals in 1933. There were many unfortunate incidents of products backfiring on costumers after being approved through animal research. As animal testing continued to grow, so did the animal protection organizations. In 1981, the John Hopkins Center for the Alternatives to Animal Testing was formed to improve health for both people and animals. Revlon and Avon were the first major cosmetic company to stop testing their products on animals in 1989. While these were steps in the right direction, animal experimentation is still being practiced actively…
