Animal abuse is defined as the human infliction of suffering or harm upon any nonhuman animal. Why does animal abuse not apply to animal testing? Animal testing has been around for about 40 years, ever since the 1920’s; it had a breakthrough and became well known. The number of animals being used for testing each year continues to increase. Animals’ that are being used for testing is wrong because it is inhumane. Animal testing is bad science. Time and time again animal experiments show that it is wasting lives and resources. “Most animal experiments are not relevant to human health. The way an animal reacts to a certain tests, may not be …show more content…
“The world does not need another eyeliner, hand soap, food ingredient, drug for erectile dysfunction, or pesticide so badly that it should come at the expense of animals’ lives” (Top five). Animals are being wasted every year by testing them on useless products that are not necessary. In addition, the animals are killed at the end of each test, thus, thousands of animals die with pain. The tests the animals receive are inhumane. “To test rabbits for development of toxicity, a pregnant rabbit is taken and exposed by force feeding, throughout her pregnancy. She is killed on the day she is expected to give birth. Her babies are extracted and evaluated for birth defects” (Cosmetic). These types of testing are morally wrong. Overall, animal testing is erroneous because it does not contribute anything meaningfully to the world. When animals are tested often the results are irrelevant, due to the fact, animals have many differences from humans. Also, the animals endure poor conditions. Lastly, the animals’ lives are wasted by being tested on products that are not important. Testing animals is abusive and needs to

Animal testing has always been a big issue around the world. Some people think that it is okay for animals to be tested on while others don’t. What even is animal testing? Animal testing is where scientists find new medications and test them on the animals before humans. Why might scientists test them on animals first? So, that if something goes wrong, only the animal would suffer and not a human. I am a critic for animal testing. I believe that animals have a purpose to the world just as much as humans do. Even if people don’t like rodents, that doesn’t mean we need to try and potentially kill them. Animals are very important to this world just like everyone else.…

When shopping at a store, no one ever thinks when he or she buys makeup, cleaning products, deodorant or lotion, that it has potentially hurt an innocent animal. In fact, millions of animals die every year due to a chemical drug. Those animals harmed never got a chance to live a normal, animal life; instead, they were put into cages and locked up for years at a time. While animal testing can be used to ensure the safety of certain drugs for humans, potentially killing or harming the animal being tested deems this practice wrong because it is immoral to kill or injure an innocent animal.…

While some think that animal testing is useful, others think it should be stopped, and here I’m about to tell you a few reasons of why they think that. First, animal testing is cruel. Animals are strapped down to tables, and stabbed with needles time and time again. Many animals have died from being tested on, without any say in the matter. As Orlans says, the animals suffer from "vomiting, diarrhea, paralysis, convulsion, and internal bleeding. Since death is the required endpoint, dying animals are not put out of their misery by euthanasia". Secondly, animal testing has no benefits to humans. The pain they suffer from is no use to humans, especially if the treatments don’t work. "The American Veterinary Medial Association defines animal pain…

Animal testing is morally wrong because of the pain inflicted on innocent creatures. There are two basic arguments that are typically presented in concern to animal testing. Most people who oppose it tend to go towards the animal welfare side of it and say that it is torturous to put animals through this, while the other side of the argument is that without these techniques products would not be thoroughly tested before being put on the market. So, it is harmful to animals, but beneficial for people (Ormandy 2). People can try and say that these tests are benefitting us by protecting us from potentially harmful products, but that is not worth harming and animal for it. Every year over 300,000 animals die from harsh lab conditions, and over 12 million are used in tests in the European Union alone (EU Animal Testing) (Fact Sheet). The tests that many animals endure and long and painful, often resulting in death or injury. Rabbits are often used in tests for skin or eye irritation where chemicals are rubbed onto their skin or dripped into their eyes causing rashes to form or making them go blind many times. Lethal dose tests are also used where animals are forced to swallow large amounts of chemicals to determine how much will cause death. Force-feeding tests are conducted over months or weeks to search for sign of general illness or other problems such as cancer or birth…

Animal testing is undoubtedly one of the most controversial issues in modern society. This practice began in the 19th century; animals were used to test dosing of certain drugs and chemicals. In the 1920’s, animals were also being used to test pesticides and food additives (Fano, 11). Today, animal testing is used to study everything from cosmetics to cancer. With such a wide range of opinions on animal rights and human priority, it is no wonder that this topic is so controversial. There are people who have an extreme view on the issue and are either completely pro or completely con. In my opinion, the issue of animal testing is far too complex for one simple answer; its morality lies somewhere in between the two poles. Animal testing is acceptable if it results in saving people’s lives. It is not acceptable, however, if it results in personal or cosmetic products that are far from vital to the human race.…

Animal testing is the scientific use of animals in research to find cures for diseases. The experiments may require killing the animal to find research. Those who agree with animal testing argue that it is useful since it allows scientists to find medicines and cures. On the other hand, others argue that animals are being mistreated in the process. I think animal testing should be banned since it is cruel, other alternatives can be used in place, the body systems of humans and animals differ, and is expensive.…
