2. Should TCU Offer Students Internships with Planned Parenthood

Summary: A university known for its Christian “values” has been the subject of much chaos in the past week, Texas Christian University has recently begun to offer its history students internships at Planned Parenthood for three college credits. Planned Parenthood is a chain of clinical centers where woman go for health assistance, such as a much controversial one: abortions. Planned Parent too has had much issues in the past due to videos being released in which they show people buying fetal tissue off of them. Planned Parenthood is not the correct place students should be going to for internships, I cannot fathom what they would “supposedly” be learning in a place that kills hundreds of thousands of babies each year. Although Planned Parenthood does offer abortions they also offer low income women support and health services; college students should not have to go to clinics like these to earn the credits they need to graduate. I think the article lacked responses from the students as well. They should have asked the students taking part in these internships to see if they wanted to be in them or not, instead of just having outsiders tell them they are in a “Christian university” and should not be taking part in internships that go against their beliefs. All in all, I do not think TCU should have offered the internship in the first place. They should know that they are held up to high standards and definitely should have known this is the response they were going to get from
