Case Study: Sinclair Marina
First off let me say that Sinclair Marina has been a customer of your services for many years. This is a multiple hour course made only more difficult by the problems faced. In addition there is poor communication from you and any other employees that are contacted during this testing. Are no efforts being made to update your software or website on a regular basis? These are the same problems I faced a year ago while taking the same test. These are paid man hours we will not

The City of Kelsey, “a great place to grow.” M. Kelsey founded the City of Kelsey in 1932. M Kelsey had the vision to preserve the natural resources of the land and maintain a “close-knit” community. This city is like any other city, with businesses, schools, citizens, government, recreation, parks, transportation, and issues-all of which I will discuss within this paper (Apollo Group, Inc, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2008 ).…

    Times Beach Case Study

Located just southwest of St. Louis, and 2 miles east of Eureka in an old flood plain used for farming, lies a ghost town called Times Beach, Missouri. Originally being marketed as a summer hideaway, one could purchase a 20 x 100 ft. lot for $67.50 in 1925 and even receive a six-month newspaper subscription. After the Great Depression and gas rationing during World War II, the town became a small community of low-middle-class economic citizens. In 1983, due to a dioxin contamination that was widely covered by the national media, the town’s citizens were completely evacuated, becoming the largest civilian exposure to dioxin in the history of the United States of America (Leistner, 1995). Two short years after the evacuation…

In The Politics of Power in “On the Waterfront, “ author Peter Biskind employs sophisticated diction and a journalistic tone to analogize this film to the life of Elia Kazan during the Red Scare of the 1950s. His interpretation of the film is complex, but it mainly consists of the notion that Terry Malloy suffers from an “interior struggle, his struggle to come to moral awareness and to act on his new perception of right and wrong” (29) (much like Kazan went through during the HUAC hearings) and that the film itself “offers an elitist model of society in which power is the prerogative of experts in the law and its enforcement in alliance with social engineers, and family to perform an essential task of social control” (30). He further interprets…

The protagonist shows way to overcome and deal with conflict this happens in both ‘Twelve angry Men’ with juror 8 and ‘On The Waterfront’ with Terry Malloy. While juror 8 is confident while having all the odds against him, Terry Malloy is very different while he needs encouragement from those that are around him. Juror 8 shows he is willing to break the law to achieve justice for the boy. He shows this by getting a knife and getting it inside the jury room. Terry is unsure on what to do and seeks advice from those around him such as Father Barry. Father Barry convinces Terry Malloy to do the right thing and use his evidence against Johnny Friendly in court. Elia Kazan shows a message that the truth will never come out if you don’t speak up.…

    Waterview Case Study

This case occurred in a premier resort called the Waterview and it’s located in the Muskoka District of Northern Ontario. The Waterview snack bar has been the leading tourist destination for several decades. Unfortunately since the premier resort has numerous ownership changes over the years, the quality of professional services and revenue has fallen down sharply. In this challenging situation, the resort’s operation manager Rebecca Boddington promoted a long-time employee Michael Welland to become the snack bar supervisor. At the first time, Michael turned down Boddlington’s promotion offer because he got a better job as a sales associate with good pay and benefits. However since then, Rebecca held a personal grudge against Michael regarding his work behaviors and ability to perform and some unavoidable arguments have come up between them. This serious lack of communication, toxic work environment and frequent disputes between the workers and management has substantially diminished the Waterview’s share in its highly competitive tourism market.…
