Causes Of The Fall Of Rome Essay

The “Fall” of Rome Rome was once a strong civilization until it broke into pieces. Rome was like a broken mirror, a puzzle that lost the pieces, a painting that was one a masterpiece, but became faded and ruined. Sometimes good things fall apart, so better things can fall together. One of the main causes of the fall of Rome was of Roman invasions. As Rome became weaker, people saw it as an open door to invade and attack Rome. Some civilizations succeeded invading and attacking Rome such as the Huns. Also, when the military became lazy, it was easier for people to invade Rome. Another main cause of the fall of Rome was the military weakness. The military began to not wear armor, which would cause them to have worse wounds and would cause
them to run and not fight. They asked their emperor to set aside their breastplates and helmets, because of this they would go to war without any protection for their chest or head. Not only were they not wearing armor, but they had become lazy and overweight. Their army of soldiers became an easy target. The soldiers soon became very weak, causing Rome to become very weak. Most importantly, the last reason that I believe caused Rome to fall was their weak leadership. Their leadership began to fall apart. Emperors were committing suicide, people were being killed in battle, most people assassinated others such as the emperors. They started to assassinate the emperors to show that they didn’t like their ruler and how they were ruling Rome. Citizens who lived in Rome didn’t want to be Roman anymore. People started to believe that Rome was not a safe place to live at anymore. Although Rome was once a beautiful city, but then fell and broke into pieces because of their weak leadership, their military weakness, and people wanting to invade Rome. Eventually Rome regained its power and started to build on. Rome is now the city of history, echos, and illusions.
