Essay Topic: Do you think that parents should provide their children between the ages of 12 ­ 16 a smartphone for daily use? Write an essay that proves one way or the other. (You must choose one side only). Thesis Statement:
Parents should provide a smartphone device for their children between ages 12­16 due to the many positive uses the phone may have. Intro: Imagine if a normal teenager had to go one day of their lives without using an air conditioning unit or a heat. The normal reaction would probably be a panic or not knowing what to do. This is because things like this are taken for granted in most teen’s lives. Many members of our community are fortunate enough to have things that we normally take for granted. Something that many people take for granted is smartphone devices, even though these devices help so much in many people’s day to day lives. Things that are helpful in most people’s lives are sometimes taken for granted

It is for this reason that I believe parents should provide a smartphone device for their children between ages 12­16 due to the many positive uses the phone may have. Body 1:
Smartphone usage can be beneficial to the child’s education.
Educational software like math or English help is provided through some of the applications.
Applications (apps) such as Wolfram Alpha or iBooks help the children grow substantially through reading, writing, and math growth.
If a student is ever having troubles with a math equation ,for example, the student could type it into an app like Wolfram Alpha and it would solve the problem as well as show the student how to solve it. This type of application could be almost as beneficial to the child as if a teacher was always there with them. A student’s english and reading literacy may increase by applications such as iBooks, which lets you download a plethora of different books and articles. This access to an almost infinite

amount of reading could benefit
