One week later I get big envelope from Centenary college and I read the book from cover to cover and I thought this place is for me. I love that the president of Centenary College has an approach to steer the students to an endless job opportunities before they're created. I really appreciate the closeness between the students and teachers so the professors can truly get to know you. If I was to die tomorrow, I would want someone to remember me as a helper. I was blessed to be able to start a volunteer club for two years that helped my school and community. The fact that Centenary College was the first college in my home state to include community service as a part in every degree program makes my heart race . I love that as a freshmen we get so many opportunities to volunteer so quickly. I feel it’s my duty to always help and I think the Centenary would love my help too. I think internships are very important in college. The list of business internships that are available at Centenary College are so incredible. The ones that caught my eye were: MetLife and Sam’s Club. The thought of me being able to get the hands on experience on a specific task that focuses on my degree is mind blowing. I can really appreciate the ability to working in a serious workplace to get my foot in the door. I would like to show the Centenary College that I can be an excellent candidate for taking on

We've gathered here today to commemorate, the egress of one class and ushering in of another to these hallowed halls of Grosse Pointe North High School via a graduation ceremony. However, it is more applicably a death, than a graduation. Please, lend me your ears, so as to stiffen the morbid conjecture that is immersing itself within your minds at this very moment. For you see, in the days of yore, when Norsemen still roamed this earth, they believed irrevocably in the notion of death as the ultimate triumph of an assailed human body and spirit; not as a catalyst of immense dread and anxiety. Yet, many of the individuals present on this field would indubitably remonstrate this ideology…

One of my favorite things to do on weekends or in my free time is help people no matter what type of help they need. I feel like each person was created to help another. we were created to stand together and not watch others struggle or fail, we were made to help those who really need us. It would be my pleasure to do that in my upcoming high school years as I understand for some students these might be a tough few years but I will do whatever I can to change that.…

Something very important to me in my life is service and that is why throughout my life I also plan to remain involved in the act of helping others in need. It’s not that easy being green. It’s not that easy being a frog, either. Some would say that he is the most awesome amphibian of all time. Others would proclaim him a puppet above the rest. His name and footprints are on a star at Grauman’s Chinese Theater, a rare honor given only to the best in Hollywood. It’s an even greater leap for an amphibian. You guessed it. I am here today to honor Kermit the Frog, a well-mannered, always positive, funny, frog who left the life of a quiet, peaceful swamp in the bayou to take on the world with his green philosophy. To some Kermit is an icon of hope for a greener, cleaner world, and to others he is an inspiration towards acceptance and kindness to his fellow creatures on Earth. To ALL who have ever heard Kermit speak or sing, he is the voice of wisdom and encouragement when they just need a smile.…

Meaning and main idea of Kenyan Commencement Speech Every time winding up at the crossroads of the life, we are making a choice that then defines the development and consequences of all subsequent life events. In this regard, the tricky thing is that careful consideration of the problem has not always guaranteed the best decisions, because it depends on what justice an individual warships: autocentric self or the universal one. Therein, as David Wallace says in his speech “pretty much anything else you worship will eat you alive” (Wallace). In this essay on the example of Matt Fowler, character from Andre Dubus’s “Killings”, I will argue that the response by default, which is the response that seems majority of people the most righteous one,…

As a student of the UIC's Honor College I believe that I will bring new innovative ideas to my fellow students and to those around me. I not only will aspire to better myself, but to encourage those around me to be the best student they can be. As the youngest sibling I have endured through many challenges. From struggling to explain my opinion about a subject in a way that will back up my reasoning to asserting my role as a leader. Although at times I have felt like giving up, I have prevailed. I learned how to state my opinion in a way that is informative, yet not rude. One challenge that I felt I excelled in exceptionally is being a leader. I have immersed myself in multiple school activates that leadership is a necessity. I am currently the president of the twelfth grade book club and a board member of the Senior Committee. With the skills that I have learned as a result of those positions I will be able to implement them in the classroom and in school events. As a student of UIC’s Honor College I plan to make use of all the advantages given to me. With the benefits provided to me I plan to take advantage of the honor courses that apply to Physical Therapy. I would also like to study abroad if I were given the opportunity to because I believe that you can learn a lot by immersing yourself in different cultures. It would be an honor for me to take part in the Honor College as a tutor because as a student who has had the experience of being both a tutor and a student I know that it can be a rewarding experience.…

Although it may sound naïve, my leadership as a student on campus, and as a woman in general, demonstrates my motivation to pay it forward. I recognize the opportunities I have as a student leader, and those that I hope to have in the future as a professional. Those include leading and mentoring those yet to come. I hope to cultivate a culture of gratitude, and given my background, I hope it is evident that I am anything but naïve. I understand the challenge it may be, better yet, that is what sparks the fire in me that cannot accept anything short of success.…

October 27, 2008 the day the city of Philadelphia finally could breathe a sigh of relief. On this date the Philadelphia Phillies won the 2008 World Series, breaking the city’s long 25 years of heart breaks since the city’s last major sport championship. They beat the Tampa Bay Rays in 5 Games in the best of 7 series. Four days later the city’s dreams of a parade down Broad Street finally became a reality. On October 31st, 2008 instead of costumes and Halloween candy the city was painted red. Everywhere you could see, everyone was celebrating the World Championship of our Philadelphia Phillies. The city took a day off. Whether it be from school, work, or even a day full of errands, the city shut down to be a part of this great memory. Hundreds of thousands poured into the heart of the Philadelphia. As the parade marched on down Broad Street, fans lined the street 40 to 50 rows of people deep. The sea of red shirts flooded Broad Street, but was then separated by the flatbed trucks that carried our beloved champions. The roar of the crowd chanting, “Let’s Go Phillies!” echoed throughout the entire city just like the Liberty Bell used too when it rang so many years ago. The parade ended in Citizens Bank Park with a sellout crowd. As they held up the trophy the place erupted in cheers.…
