VU Chapel Service For this chapel credit I decided to listen to the voice of Tony Wood from moment church. The reason why I chose this speaker is because of the title it was provided on the Vanguard website which was “The Wrong Thief” and because I was recommended by a friend that this speaker was a great one to listen to and to really try and absorb his message. The friend that recommended him to me shares a similar lifestyle as I do so I knew I was in for something that I would enjoy. Immediately he began to strike laughter in the crowed and grab everyone’s attention almost ensuring that his audience in ready to intercept his message and be engaged in the word of God and his speaking during that day. He then says a beautiful prayer asking God to keep him honest in his life and within what he is speaking about today and to be with people that really need him in this world of horrible addiction and pornography. He asked for God to bring peace and cleanse anyone in the room that succumbs to his glory and start there lives a new with God.
He begins to talk about he himself being really depressed at a point in his life in the past and actually doing a very scary thing, which was pretty much cursing God. He was doing this out of depression and anger and was just like “really God?”. I myself have been in this situation a million times which I say regretfully but not every time did I get to the point of feeling the need to curse God but most of the time I do admit to asking God why me? Why now? What did I do to deserve this? I remember distinctively that each time I asked those questions, nothing about that situation got any better than it had before I asked those questions. I remember a similar story that a pastor at my church had mentioned while speaking at a service one time. He said to take one very good positive in your life and you can take the same one as many times as you want as long as it is significant to us and keep that in your heart and
