Cheeseburger Oreos Argumentative Essay
Good afternoon, classmates and instructor,
After analyzing the hoax “Cheeseburger Oreos” from the Museum of Hoaxes, I am going to describe certain key elements. These key elements include that the hoax/fake involve a pair of guys eating weird combinations of food such as cheeseburger with Oreo, and that they were creating a specific flavor because there is no such flavor. Also, that they are acting like it is an awesome and delicious flavor, which everyone may like it. So, the argument has this structure:
(P1)-Two guys eating cheeseburger with Oreos to create a specific flavor.
(P2)-There is no such a flavor.
(C)-Therefore, it is an awesome and delicious flavor, which everyone may like it.

The article, A more svelte Oreo will tempt the cookie's traditionalists, written by Washington Post was about "milk's favourite cookie", Oreo and their new cookie, Oreo Thins. These sandwich cookies are expected to be, "slightly wider and just a little over half as thick as the original wafers," according to Washington Post. The new design is interesting because the cookies are created to be consumed straight from the packet, instead of being twisted, licked and then dipped into milk like the original wafers. These new wafers are 7 calories less than the original, but are not meant to be eaten as a diet cookie. Oreo thins are will probably make a lot of profit, since Oreos are, without doubt, the most widely purchased cookies throughout history.…

In the article "Why the Fries Tastes Good", Eric Schlosser introduces the readers to the flavor industry. Teenagers and children today are not only suffering from serious health issues, but also are putting their lives at risk. It is not only the fact that they choose to eat unhealthy, but more so that they have these delicious, mouthwatering, and cheap foods right in their cupboards. “Junk food”, as stated by Gregory Lopez, soared during the 1980’s and 1990’s, doubling among adults in the U.S. and tripling among children (Natural News). Studies show that the number one “Junk food” consumed by children and teenagers were Hot Cheetos. Not only may gastritis come from the consumption of Hot Cheetos, but are also at arm’s length for children, following up with health issues that are quite devastating and are also addicting, to top things off.…

After seeing a picture of a delicious McDonald’s Big Mac, he just could not contain that deep groan that originated from his stomach. He quickly grabs his keys and wallet, driving straight away to McDonalds, and ordered himself a delicious Big Mac. Once he received his paper bag, giving off a smothering smell, he hungrily grabbed his Big Mac, but as he opened the box he became depressed. Why? Because McDonalds had fooled him, that picture of their delicious Big Mac was not what sat in front of him. Instead, there sat a three pieces of bread, and what appeared to be two brownish, green beef patties in-between the bread. What this young man had to sadly go through was appearance vs. reality; while the picture of the Big Mac looked big and tasty, the actual Big Mac he got was disgusting. The theme,…

July 2nd, 1962 Sam Walton opened the first Walmart in Rogers, Arkansas. Walmart is a name that is commonly known in every household across the United States of America. It’s right around the corner to nearly all Americans and a haven for bargain hunters, so people think. Walmart brings jobs and helps the economy when they move to the area. This is another misconception Walmart wants you to believe. Walmart actually is doing the exact opposite. Sure it creates jobs, poverty level paying jobs with less than forty hours a week and no benefits. People who own and operate their own businesses, who actually stimulate their local economy, are at risk for going bankrupt and losing everything they have. Why would people want to spend money when they can get a similar product at Walmart for half the cost? There’s a simple answer to that question, people don’t want to spend money they don’t have to. Millions of people in the United States are living paycheck to paycheck working minimum wage jobs. These people can’t afford to buy products from a local family run store. The only places they’re able to go and get everything they need is Walmart and other big box businesses who can offer cheap…

I recently watched a cheerios commercial that was aired during the 2014 Super bowl back in February. This commercial was different than any other cheerios commercial because it involved an interracial couple and their mixed daughter. In the video, you see the little girl and her mother sitting at the table. The girl starts off by saying “mom, dad said cheerios were good for your heart is that true?” The mother replies, “Cheerios has healthy grains and it helps with cholesterol so that’s heart healthy.” The little girl smirks and walks away. The next scene you see the dad sleeping on the couch with a whole bunch of cheerios on top of his heart. This video received a lot of backlash on YouTube about this interracial couple. One stereotypical…

The state of school lunches has been a point of debate for many since Michelle Obama’s Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act signed into law December of 2010, giving full authority to the USDA in setting the nutritional standards for all foods regularly sold in school lunch lines, stores, and vending machines. The law was set to provide additional funding to meet the updated standards, however, the cost was severely underestimated. Using data provided by Medicaid, eligibility for the free or reduced school lunch programs has seen a definite increase, although participation has not (Lee, 2010). In a press release, U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Kathleen Sebelius was quoted saying “The Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act is a significant step forward in our effort to help America's children thrive and grow to be healthy adults... By increasing the number of students eligible to enroll in school meal programs and improving the quality of food served, this legislation simultaneously tackles both hunger and the obesity levels currently affecting too many communities across this nation.” I would like to draw attention to her careful wording of “...step forward in our effort...” A subject as incredibly important as the nutrition of…
