Chihuahua Essay
The first steps to learning how to train a chihuahua are to get a healthy dose of courage about you, lots of patience and a big bag of treats. Chihuahuas are very intelligent and inquisitive dogs by nature, so training them will provide the mental and physical stimulation they crave. However, because they are just as spirited as they are smart, they can easily manipulate the situation causing you to be the one being trained.

Chihuahuas respond to lots of positive reinforcement and praise. A chihuahua is only going to give you a small window of opportunity when she is trying to tell you she needs to go outside. She may run to the door and sit there for a moment or she may scratch your leg at which point it is up to you to figure out what she is asking for. High praise and a handful of treats will teach her it is more fun to go outside than in the house. People can say Chihuahua’s are high energy, and while it may have a small truth to that it that, their energy runs out quickly. A 30 minute walk or less can take care of that and it doesn’t have to be every day. On the other hand German Shepherds are definitely high energy – high exercise dogs. Apart from they’re friendly once they get to know you, they are intelligent but also are willing to run and run and run. Great for police departments whom have suspects they are chasing. Dogs like that need daily exercise that will use up that energy or will turn into a problem such as destroying furniture or digging holes which could lead to them escaping. The present day Chihuahua is far smaller than its forebears. Some believe that the Chinese Crested Dog was responsible for the reduction in size, a smoother coat, and the Chihuahua’s voice. Modern Chihuahuas come in a plethora of colors and in both long and shorthaired varieties. Rediscovered in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1850, the dog has remained consistently popular to this day, and is among the most common breeds seen in American homes. The first Chihuahua to be officially registered by the American Kennel Club was "Midget" in 1904. This is a long-lived breed, often achieving 16 or more years of age. However, there are some genetic diseases that can cause problems. Like most toy breeds, the…

Have you ever seen a dog be obedient to its owner? I have and in fact I have experienced it as well. Dogs are very obedient to their owners. One way dogs show that they are obedient is that they obey you when you give them a command. When you tell a cat to sit or lay down, they really never do what you tell them to do; they just do whatever they want. For the most part, dogs can almost understand what we tell them to do. Sometimes they won’t understand and do whatever. Whereas cats just do what they please, and they also choose to ignore us. Dogs are a whole lot better to teach than to teach a cat. Why? Dogs mostly do what you say instead of cats where they ignore you and do whatever.…
