Normal: Toddlers looking to parents for guidance and instruction for personal hygiene as well as the food choices they have. Initiative versus guilt
Normal: Preschool-aged children should be given small chores around the house to contribute to the household as well as a schedule to do personal hygiene. Industry versus inferiority
Normal: Child is aware that coughing and sneezing spreads germs and that washing hands and taking pride in personal hygiene can reduce incidences of being ill. Potential Problems: If chosen diet by the parents is not a healthy one it can lead to child being undernourished and having poor dietary choices, also toddlers may not be open to try new food choices. Potential Problems: A child not aware of the need for hygiene or not compliant with the regimen as well as children that are not compliant with the parents chore schedule or routine. Potential Problems: If a parent does not stress the importance of self worth and hygiene and live by example then a child’s view of the importance of health goes by the way side.
